kick at the end of the first half.Eh, Wilson is what he is. Cashman is better. But that hammy injury didn't look good and I think Cashman has dealt with that before. My guess is he is out 4-6 weeks at a minimum.

Ain't gonna lie, JJ looked deer in headlights lost the first 3/4 of the game. Glad the switch seemed to come on because it was starting to look like a painful season. Of course it could still swing back and forth. Lots of bright spots elsewhere from the defense to special teams to Jordan Mason in the backfield and Aaron catching passes.

Lots of concerns. But, I'll take it, considering how things looked through three quarters. The play clock thing was mind-boggling, but I'm sure they'll straighten that out. The defense kept them in the game, for the most part, which was encouraging (and not surprising). That said, a better QB picks them apart in the 4th quarter. Caleb missed several throws that, if he makes even just a couple of those, it's probably game over.
Need to start strong this week. I'm pretty certain Penix will be better than Caleb was. On the other hand, I think the Bears D is stronger than ATL's, and being at home should help some. Will be interesting to see if the offense can continue to make strides in a positive direction. If they can do so, and be firing at 90% all cylinders when Addison returns, I think it could really be an exciting offense to watch. It's nice to see a strong two-headed running attack that we haven't had in at least a couple of years now (probably since Cook and Mattison, so maybe more like 4?).

O'Connell has become so conservative with his game plans in the first half.
You have Jefferson, Adison, Hockerson, Addison, And yet his play calling is same every first half.....
As with last year, if he calls a pass on first down, and it is incomplete, 95% of the time you know he will run it up the middle on 2nd.
Defense's know this, which leaves them in 3rd and long.
Did like the Akers to Oliver call, he needs to do more of that.
Need to call more pass action, screens, and get the QB out of the pocket until the OL learns how to block.
3 - 2 is ok. Just better hope McCarty is back after the break and O'Connell gets more creative.

OL chaos was the last thing anyone would have expected, and it set chemistry and trust way back, JMHO. I think JJ will learn from this just like a lot of 1st year QBs. Given strength of schedule, it might not look like it until it’s too late for 2025. That last scoring drive he led was maybe more important than W/L.

At some point you have to play the cards you are dealt with. The team needs to find out if he is the future or not. Having him ride the bench isn't going to help.
The problem, IMO, is he hasn't adjusted the offensive scheme to McCarthy's strengths, nor adjust due to the subpar OL.

Dallas did yesterday a few times. J Williams running at 4 or 5 yds a pop and gets it to the one yd line for 2nd and goal. Then three straight passes. That too sometimes, but I meant running for the yard. The Vikes gave up trying to run for the yard last year (particularly redzone), but were supposed to have improved OL. Yet, they still need gimmicks to run for it, like TJ yesterday. JMHO, a team can't be taken seriously until it can impose its will for a yard.
This is 100% true. Unfortunately, some play callers want to get tricky and don't even try and because of that they end up worse at it than they should be when they really need to get that yard.

I'm surprised he was still able to stand after the game with beating he took.
No QB, in his 6th start, will look good when getting hammered play after play.

Not nearly enough information for them to make a decision at this point. He will get the rest of this year, dependent on health, at the very least. I am all for failing fast, especially at the QB position. The worst spot to be in is to have someone like Tua or Kyler where you pay them 1/4 of your teams salary only for them to be mediocre on their best days. Maybe they do what the 49ers did with Lance and move on from him immediately, however, it is clear that Brosmer is not Purdy.

If JJ McC turns this thing around I will happily eat these words, but he looks like the 2nd biggest bust in the last 25 years of the NFL. When your QBR is below "Spike"... you ain't got it. And he's not a rookie even though, I get it... he did not play football in his rookie season... but apparently, he didn't watch or study any football during his year off either.
He looks like the typical "big NCAA program" over-hyped QB that read too much of his own headlines, took in all the accolades of the fanbase he brought with him to the NFL, and listened too much to all the beautiful things his college HC says about him. Lose the war paint, forget the self-given nickname, and get to work JJ.
If he can't eat a full helping of humble pie he'll be out of the league in 2 years (or less).

Had the Vikings special teams done their job, we'd all be talking about his drive to take the lead and win against the Bears.
