(What's So Funny 'Bout) Peace, Love And Understanding

Elvis Costello & The Attractions

Costello has hundreds of songs and used tens of thousands of words in his long career.  He definitely has written a lot more songs with one word titles than 6+ ones.  He didn't write this one of course but I've always loved this track.  It's one of those songs that gets better the louder you play it.

I guess there's some kind of thematic link from this to Bonzo Goes to Bitburg but there's no way I'll be able to find 18 more songs like these.
Been 30+ years and the question remains unanswered.

Eephus, how do you get the letters so big? I used to be able to do it on the old board.
The :nerd: way is to use HTML size tags.  Doug B is a pro at this.

My way is to simply cut and paste the title from the linked YouTube page and retain source formatting in the FBG window.

You should have met up with me when I was being berated by @scorchy for stinking up the Airbnb in Brooklyn
I would like to try some of that sativa stuff.  It's been years for me - pot always made me sleepy, hungry and occasionally paranoid.

Was always a speed, acid, mushrooms and lots of beer guy.

Pot's not for everybody, though I think the paranoia is something you get over once you get used to it.  I did most of my smoking in the safe confines of my living room for years until I stopped caring.  Then I just smoked too damn much, whenever wherever

A good sativa does perk you up but I'm not sure it's any better as far as hunger and paranoia go.. and it keeps you awake if you smoke at night.. I never really preferred it, could appreciate at times, but my motive as a stoner was always relaxation

Aside from the very occasional passed joint, I stopped doing all drugs (except alcohol) when we had kids.   I rediscovered my taste for weed when we were empty nesters last year.  It's a lot better than it used to be.  Where I once snuck out behind the garage to hide from my parents, I now go out in the back to get away from my kids. :bag:

Yeah, I have always been more about socializing and partying and going hard and late.

However, my body isn't processing liquor like it used to and gotta watch the sugars.  Besides, all my friends have gotten older and they don't want any part of that anymore.

Thinking more along the lines of relaxing with the wife and laying around rubbin' on her so been thinking differently about the whole deal.  It would be a hell of a lot easier on my system and a tankful of bourbon or vodka.

My biggest problem really is, if I have it, I'm hitting it.  Same with beer/wine.. I'm a little more prudent with hard liquor because vomiting is just not worth it

Honestly life is better when I go without, I do grown up things like go to the gym and work productively

But eventually I start getting worked up about some BS or other and I cave, because I need perspective and more importantly sleep

ETA: the wine is almost gone and my typing shows

Yo ya kids prolly wanna hit the boi

Reflections on digging through the virtual crates for long song titles.  It seems like a fair percentage of eligible songs are album fillers--in studio jokes that got recorded and given a funny name.

I've been off for about a month, it ####### blows.. been worried about some potential testing at work, new contracts.. I guess I might be clean about now

Currently downing a bottle of vino.  I got a cortisone shot in my hand earlier and it hurts like a B.
Do you drink iced tea?  It will help flush the THC out of your fat cells.

You callin me fat?

Yeah I actually do, most lunches.. I think I'm probably good now.. and I think I'm probably not going to get tested at this point but it's still possible.  I'm staying off through March at least.  I need to lose weight :bag:

Just got home from work and am now freshly baked.  Thanks fellas
Wasn't planning on drafting this song in this spot but couldn't resist.

Joe Cocker - With a Little Help From My Friends

I'm not sure if it's even worth comparing this song to the Beatles version since they are both so different. Still, I am grateful to the Beatles for giving Joe the ammo to crush this cover. I love the way that he wails and screams but what really makes this song so strong are the backup singers. Especially the the way that they go back and forth with Joe.

Favorite part of the song:

3:43

Backup singers: Do you need any money?

Joe: WWWWHHHHHHOOOOOOOOAAAAAOOOOOOAAAAA
