MJD Charged with Battery? (1 Viewer)

Sounds as if MJD's 'friend" was getting fresh with a chick and that is where it escalated. Grrrr...thought he had this stupid BS behind him. So maybe a 2 game suspension reduced to one game from Goodell?

Way more than two games I would say. He didn't just ##### slap him. He knocked him the F out.

Please, no drugs, guns or other weapons involved. Just a guy with a glass jaw choking a friend of MJD's.

It's a misdemeanor charge, and minus the Denny's snafu he's been pretty squeaky clean. I'd hope it only be two but who knows.

Jaguars | No charges against Maurice Jones-Drew

Tue, 28 May 2013 12:14:11 -0700

Updating a previous report, there will be no criminal charges filed against Jacksonville Jaguars RB Maurice Jones-Drew for an incident Sunday, May 26.

If there was no reason for the punch, then MJD would be charged. I have no doubt the security guard was over stepping his bounds and it is likely they have it on video. I doubt there was a legitimate reason for the security guard to be in the area of their table.

Or he could have, ya know, just paid him off not to file charges.

Either way, it's going to hit the pocket.

Yeah... not really enough details yet to make that assumption just yet... did the girl mentioned in the story complain about being touched? We don't know that yet...

If I'm a security guard and I'm doing my job I'd hang around a table that's full of people ESPECIALLY when there is a rich athlete sitting there... I mean why would I not? Isn't that where all these newsworthy 'incidents' occur?

He's probably just frustrated his career is basically over with his injuries.
Top 10 this year, easy.
have you seen the recent pictures of him? He's fat and completely out of shape. His knees and foot are shot.
You're getting this from one TMZ picture?

ETA: I don't think it looks like him, even. That tattoo looks the same, so it very well could be. But I wouldn't be surprised if it wasn't.

It's him, just a fat out of shape version. Scary what he looks like now.

Assuming it is - it's one picture (angle) of him in an oversized tank. I'll need a lot more than that to assume MJD is done. He's always been a very hard worker and I don't think that's changed.

He hasn't been charged.... yet...

His agent, however, said no charges have been filed and Jones-Drew didn't hit anybody.

"We have confirmed with the St. Augustine Police Department that no charges have been filed against Maurice and that the matter is under investigation," agent Adisa Bakari told NFL.com's Ian Rapoport. "While Maurice was present when the events in question began, he quickly departed the premises immediately thereafter. Maurice was not involved in any physical altercation, whatsoever."

St. Augustine police later issued a statement explaining the situation.

"The St. Augustine Police Department has taken a notarized statement of Misdemeanor Battery against Jacksonville Jaguar player Maurice Jones-Drew that stemmed from an altercation at the Conch House on Sunday, May 26, 2013," the statement read. "Jones-Drew has not been charged with any crime and maintains his innocence. He is cooperating fully with our investigation.
