I love both backs, but you HAVE to say MJD. He's shown he can do any run on the field, inside, out, catch, return, etc. I still have hopes Bush could become as good as MJD has been the last 2 years though.

Although I think Reggie Bush is going to have a breakout year of sorts this year, I gotta go with MJD. One, he's proven he has the ability to be a sole starter and two, he's just looked more impressive and has an established role on offense.

And, despite all of that, Bush still manages to score more points than MJD. I agree that MJD has looked like the far better play to date, but the bottom-line is you don't get points for how good you look. So, unless MJD ends up getting the full load when Fred leaves (which who knows when that might be) or Bush loses his job, I think they are pretty even and Bush has room to improve.

In '06, MJD finished 8th in my ppr league (.1 pts per yard), Bush 9th. The reason Bush scores so much is because he catches so many balls, but he may see a dip with the arrival of Shockey (and possible emergence of a 2nd WR ala Meachem). If he does see less targets he's likely to see a big hit, where MJD is probably only going to get better. Bush could also improve to be an every down back, but he simply hasn't shown he can be, MJD is a more complete back at this point IMO.

:) Hasn't MJD outscored Bush in all formats each of the last two years?

In my 1 PPR league, MJD had 4 more pts than Bush, so technically yes. He also played in 3 more games. I know there's always the argument in ppg vs. final total, but I think in this instance, it's pretty clear Bush outscored MJD in 2007. In 2006 I think they were almost tied but don't have their PPR scoring info and didn't do the math.I personally have MJD ranked higher as well, but I think they are essentially even since I still think Bush has potential to improve. I also don't think Bush is going to lose a significant # of receptions like some predict.

Bush was also more consistent (less games under 10):2007: Bush - 8.5, 13, 21.5, 20.9, 20.1, 20.3, 18.3, 30.5, 19.4, 22.4, 9.2, 10.7 (2)MJD - 9, 5.1, 7.5, 20.2, 34.4, 15.9, 8.2, 13.9, 21.9, 10.7, 10.6, 12.7, 6.5, 14.9, 26 (5)

I went with MJD for a couple reasons. One, I think he is a more complete back that can run inside a little more effectively. Two, I think the addition of Shockey will affect the PPR value of Bush. MJD might just be one of the best receivers the Jags have. :goodposting:
