Has anyone played this game? What are your thoughts? I am particularly interested in hearing about the franchise mode. I may buy this game today or tomorrow since it got the best ratings by the media, but I am curious about what my fellow FBGs have to say especially about the franchise mode.

VERY good game. Does not compare to MVP. Hitting starts out tough but then becomes a bit easy but its still tough to score runs. I get 12-16 hits a game but only like 4 runs a game. I need to tweak sliders. Doubles are tough to get. Pitching is a bit too easy using the meter but you can change it to classic and it makes it a bit tougher. Once again I need to tweak the sliders. That being said Im playing on Veteran because All Star and HOF are EXTREMELY tough. Maybe when I get better (I might be at that point now) I will move up a notch. Franchise isnt that great. CPU NEVER makes trades but other than that its a pretty complete franchise mode with scouting, minor leaguers, etc. Ask any question you want and I will answer but keep it in this thread so others can see.

Bought a PS3 for the PS3 version of this game, but because of all of the delays, I picked up the PS2 version. Very good game, actually like it better than 2k7 for the 360. Shady hit everything on the head, I use classic pitching and I'm still trying to master the hitting aspect of the game. Got shutout by Sabathia in my first game and lit up Sowers for 8 runs in my last game. Great game all around.

By the way, this is my first time playing The Show series and I am pretty impressed. Pretty pumped to see what they are going to do with the PS3 version, IF it ever comes out.

I'd like to hear more feedback from anyone who's played both games (this and 2k7). So far I'm really liking 2k7 for the 360 - my biggest complaint is its VERY difficult to gauge off speed pitches.

Positives/Negatives of both?

I got it. It seems ok. The franchise mode is very detailed, which I like. However, there is something very strange going on. Every time I reload, some of my coaches are different. I would hire a certain pitching coach, for example, I would save it and then when I reload the game the next day, the coaches are different. Has anyone noticed something like this? I am not sure if it happens every time I reload or just after I play a game and then turn it off.

Now the coaches are gone alltogether, for all teams, not just mine. WTF??? I haven't even finished spring training of the first season, so I don't know if there are other glitches yet. Does anyone know anything about this or other glitches? Gameplay is pretty good and I like the detail of the franchise mode so far, but glitches like this are very annoying.

I believe this is a glitch in the PS2 version. Hopefully fixed for the PS3 version.
