Doing some casual checking on a baseball topic I really hadn't paid much attention to. (Johan's fine year spurred my curiosity) Initial site claimed Grover Cleveland Alexander had won 3 consecutive plus a fourth Triple Crown for pitching ( Leading league in Wins, ERA, and strikeouts...just in case) in 1915, 16, 17, and1920. I thought the only good thing the guy did was be portrayed in a movie by a former president, so I double checked at another site which showed him only winning the "award" 3 seasons. Needing to solve this for my own trivia needs I checked the MLB.com site....GCA only had 2 years recognizing the feat.....my question, do you have a stat site that you trust more than others?
And lastly, did anyone here even know who the heck Grover Cleveland " Old Pete" Alexander was?
