I has some smarts, and I am willing to bend the rules on this.

Let me be clear

I wish to PAY for mlb. tv

I wish to watch the AL Champion Texas Rangers on my laptop or TV at my will. I live in Dallas.

Who best to make this happen?

I do not want to have to resort to streaming sites on an daily basis I'd rather pay to do this on the up and up to get better quality.

There has gotta be a way to make it look like your in Florida or something. Tech dudes? I'm in the same boat.

I think you can use a proxy server, but I don't know how or what really it is. Try google.
Also if you have VPN for your work you might be able to see it when you login. I can't watch Twins games on MLB.tv regularly, but if I login through VPN my computer looks like it's in New York so I can get the Twins.

Yea you need to have some kind of VPN proxy that will show your IP address as somewhere else. It's pretty easy to do (just do some googling) but the downside is they usually arent free and can slow your computer down... which could make your feed run kind of choppy.

My old job (in NY) used to get internet piped through Cleveland for some reason so I could always watch Yankee/Mets games.

No DirecTv I take it? If you had it, you could watch the local teams on their sports channels just by purchasing the Sports Pak, I believe.

Not in-market games. They would be blacked out for the same reason.
Not true. In-market games are free and clear on the local channels. In fact, that's where you have to watch them. I live in Iowa so I have the unfortunate (or fortunate depending on your perspective) position of having 6 local teams (White Sox, Twins, Cubs, Cards, Brewers, Royals). So, whenever my Yanks play one of those teams, I can't watch them on YES or Extra Innings. I have to watch them on the local channel. Now, since I always have Extra Innings, I can't speak to whether the games would be free and clear without ordering that, but I can tell you that you can for sure watch them on the local channels with the Sports Pak and Extra Innings.

You can go here:

put in your Zip Code and see what games you'll be able to see on the Sports Pak in your area. You might not even have to order the Sports Pak depending on your level of DirecTv package and where you live....
That doesn't solve his problem. He would need to be at home to watch the Rangers, and he probably can already see every game with his basic cable package. Due to the idiotic nature of the blackout rules, you can't stream a live game in market. So when I'm at work I'm basically stuck with either streaming the game illegally, getting the radio feed, or using gameday.

You should invest in a SlingBox. Will take care of that problem.
