MNF - Odell Beckham Jr [Q] - WR, NYG (1 Viewer)

Not true. There were several other Giants players who did not make the trip...I'm not saying he will play, be making the trip is surely a positive sign
I agree that it's a good sign, but if Beckham can't play, he is definitely the kind of guy that wants to be seen on the sideline and talked about.

I grabbed Harris for this week just in case ODB is out.
Same here if I here he is inactive only.

My gut says he plays...

Yet seems strange that Coughlin is treating him in a special way versus other players who don't practice get ruled out. ODB definitely increases win percentage in this key divisional matchup. It's like everyone is holding out hope and a victory may hinge on this one player?

I think with ODB the Gints have a punchers chance tonight. Without him they have none.

Being a Philly homer here and I would have to agree with you. The Eagles haven't really showed us any consistancy and, well, if ODB is up against Maxwell I'm afraid we will see another Julio performance. The Giants run D isn't to shabby either, which worries me about our run game. Gonna be a good game to watch.

espn today

Beckham (hamstring) is expected to play Monday night against the Eagles barring a pre-game setback, NJ.com reports.

Spin:
Beckham's hamstring ailment was carefully treated throughout the past week and although he was held out of recent practices, the wideout is expected to be available Monday. Obviously, having Beckham in the lineup would represent a huge boost to the Giants' offense and fantasy owners alike, and it appears making it through pre-game warmups unscathed is the final hurdle Beckham needs to clear in order to start against the Eagles.

Does anyone know Algohors status? surprised there isn't a thread for that? Wasn't sure if Huff was starting in his place

Yahoos player page fwiw:

NFL.com's Ian Rapoport reports Odell Beckham (hamstring) is expected to play Monday evening.

Advice: NJ.com reported the same thing earlier Monday morning. Barring a pre-game setback, OBJ will be good to go for a juicy matchup with the Eagles.

He was declared out a couple of days ago I thought
Sure enough, ruled out Saturday. Not sure if you've been out of town or what... Yahoos had him out since sat:

Player Note Sat, Oct 17

Nelson Agholor (ankle) has been ruled out for Week 6 against the Giants.

Advice: Agholor said early in the week he planned to play, but he was not able to practice all week. Josh Huff should have an expanded role with Agholor out.

Stupid question, but will he be at 100% or will they inject him with crap so he will not notice it or will he still feel the hamstring and play to what it will allow?

I am NOT a doctor, but I don't think they can inject anything into a hamstring or I don't think they would because of the danger of additional injury.

I am, but I feel more confident in him getting me the points I need than I do Murray against the Giants' D. Realistically I probably need 15+ points from whichever of the 2 I start.

I am!

Cortisone or versions of it, are not really options for Beckham. While yes it decreases inflammation and makes it so you don't really feel much pain in most cases, it also significantly weakens the tissue leading to a greater risk of a rupture. Of course this is more common wi extended use but I would be highly surprised if he was given a shot

Another option, possibly, is trigger point dry needling. This would decrease the hamstrings sensitivity to stretch, which could decrease his pain. However, pain is a protection for the body and if you increase the tolerance of a muscle to stretch (a type of pain), then you open the door to further injury

What is most likely the case is a muscle relaxer and/or oral pain medication of some kind (ibu profen even) and a compression sleeve for his hamstring

Wow. Huge game tonight from OBJ. I'm talking about 150 and 2 TDs minimum.
Ok so sarcasm aside...Great to see him making some rather aggressive cuts in warmups. Doesn't seem like the hammy is bothering him much
Warm ups vs deceleration with a DB hanging on you is night and day.
So what you're saying is people who are wondering if they should start him or not should wait until they see him run his first few routes of the game? Got it.Sorry but for those of us not on the field, in the Giants locker room, or at the game, is is all we have to go off of. Sure beats just seeing a "he's active" posting and that's it. Nice to,see him take a few cuts. As a medical professional in sports medicine, his movement is very telling of a guy who is not specifically hampered by a significant hamstring strain, at least in that video.

But yes, you are correct those are two different actions and we won't know definitively if he is going to be affected by his injury until he sees game action. Since I can't predict the future. My decisions will have to be based off of any pre game info, videos, and insight I can get my hands on

He's up by 7 goijg against OBJ

Maybe just me, but he looks frustrated. but yeah, 150 and 2 TD's sure
No real dog in this fight here but I kindof thought the same thing, kindof shaking his head and only putting pressure on one leg

I could be totally and completely wrong here but that was my first impression. Hamstrings are a funny injury to have. It has to be frustrating as well to rest it a week or so and still feel tight.
