Trevor Lawrence
5 yrs/$275M after just 3 years on his rookie deal
$200M guaranteed
They didn't even try to make him play out the 4th year with a 5th year option in their back pocket
I still think it’s way too early to close the book on this guy. He’s shown flashes.

The playcalling is questionable. The OL does him no favors either.
That’s the frustrating part, but it’s few and far between that a QB underwhelms/underperforms as a rookie, gets a big contract, and then evolves into something great. Usually a change of scenery is the solution, and frankly it’s probably about time to blow the team up and build from the bottom.

what flashes? Oh he won a playoff game.. Since then he is about to be 0-8 in his last 8, has thrown 1 TD this year and has a horrible completion percentage.

How long do these guys need?
He'll have a new head coach next season, the Jags will roll with Trevor for quite a while, they're not going to bench him, no way no how
He'll have his 3rd Head Coach before he starts Season 5

I get with his contract their not going to bench him, but the point is the contract was insane, especially for a guy who really didn't do anything.

Change KC, Change HC, draft OL. There’s a framework in JAX. They have elite talent at the skill positions. They need to set up Lawrence for success.

I agree with you, it was a shocking announcement and since they got it done early, you might think they got a oogd deal by not making him wait until after the '24 season
But it feels like the Jags got fleeced

I do buy this....now that Thomas is there. I was getting real sick of people acting like Christian Kirk (1 1k yard season in 6 years), or Ridley (1 1k yard season in 5 years) were a legit WR1 in this league.

Lawrence and the Jags are just ***.
Thomas is not **** and I don't think Etienne is either, they have some decent skill pieces
I don't think that DE/Edge guy they took No 1 overall when people were raising their eyebrows, don't think he's done well
Hmm I wonder if the guy who went #2 who everybody thought should go 1 is any good, guess we’ll never know.
Travon Walker and I stand corrected, 10 sacks last season is nothing to sneeze at
but yeah, Hutch was a no brainer IMHO, Sauce went a couple later, both of them have had bigger impacts

Stingley has been really good too, and Charles Cross is the #1 OT in the NFL so far this year by PFF grade.

Jacksonville now has the 2nd worst contract in sports history after creepy Watson. At least Jax didn't give up a boat load of picks on top of it

Miami is in the conversation for worst contract with the Tua contract. One of the most respected local beat writers, Barry Jackson, argued to let Tua play his 5th year option to see #1 if he could stay healthy again, and #2 beat a team in the playoffs and/or play well vs top teams in the regular season.

No one will trade for Tua. Maybe a team trades for Trevor ala Goff a few years ago.

Allen has 28 passing attempts at the half. Its like they wanted to come out and remind people they can still throw. ***tips cap***

Listen, Jacksonville isn’t great, but they do have a lot of injuries, especially on defense. And Buffalo also may be really really good. Tough matchup
I think BUF is very good. We'll find out more the next 3 weeks, @bal, HOU, NYJ. How did 3 consecutive away games happen?

Its a tough matchup, but Jags are gonna be 0-3 and really only looked ok in 1 of those games. Also, those other 2 teams only beat Jacksonville.

Buffalo looks good, but not ready to Crown them yet,... Next 2 weeks will be very tailing (at Baltimore, and at Houston)

They had to fight vs Arizona, and beat a team who played basically a half the game without their QB.
