Money Situation in New Orleans (1 Viewer)

Two teams passing on Reggie Bush would obviously be ridiculous, but this pick doesn't make sense money wise. They already have invested a ton of money in Deuce McAllister, and after not being taken #1, Reggie is going to want to out do Mario Willaims. I know this is the "heroic" pick, but does anyone see what Im saying.

Yeah I see an OVER abundance of money in the RB position. So much that they will NEVER get the total value of that money out of the Duece and Bush. I don't see Bush there for more than 4 yrs. He'll go somewhere, similar to Lebron James in a small market organization, and become a marketing mecca.

My question is the Saints defense with emphasis on the DE Grant. There were reports of the Saints shopping him around. I'm sure that was with full intent of Bush not being there at #2 and drafting Williams. Are they keeping Grant? Is that a large lump of money they can do without in order to free up more? Or will they now keep him as a defensive need to support the newly improved offense?

Deuce's contract is easy to get out of after this season. The bonus money was split out over a few seasons ... unpaid bonus money will not count against any future cap.

We did a thread on this Saturday ... let me go find it.

EDIT: Thread about Deuce's contract from Saturday.

Grant is a good player ... borderline Pro-Bowl level on a higher profile team. He'd not so expendable that he should be cut for cap space.Look, last season was pretty much a mulligan for the entire Saints team. I'm throwing all the 2005 stats out the window. It's shameful that so many Saints threw the towel in last season so early on ... but I know that a good many of those that did will be able to come back strong in 2006.
