Insoxicated
Have a buddy who lives down there and is inviting the GF and I to come down for a long (4 night or so) weekend. We'd be heading down for the Grilmaster HEB Cooking competition the weekend of Labor Day. Would probably spend a day or two at the competition as guests of the last winning team and knowing the head organizers so I imagine we'd get a nice immersive experience there.
He's talking about taking care of hotel and other expenses, but I am still curious about areas that are wise to stay/avoid and costs of things like meals/drinking/etc. What sort of entertainment options are there?
As with anything Mexico, safety is always a concern, though given this isn't juarez, and given he would be escorting us much of the time, I'm not overly concerned.
Any other suggestions? Thoughts for non-spanish speakers? Crash course for basics, or should be fine sticking with english only?
thanks in advance!
