Bush will return punts/kicks in "times of need"...ie close games...don't want to overuse him. Saints insiders say Bush has been better than expected.(Were the Sayers comparisons not enough??) Pac10 = conference of champions.

McCallister will get work tonight.

Palmer will play against Packers, has been moving around pretty good in practice, looking for swelling in the knee.

Barlow is in NYJ to be the main back...Barlow not a cheap get, will cost 10 million, so the Jets see this as a significant acquisition.

Cowboys D is the best Parcells D since he was with Giants.

Awesome. Thanks LHUCKS!

I'm really looking forward to watching Dallas' D this year. They are going to be coming in waves in the front seven. Some of the guys they will cut (especially LBs) are going to start on other teams this year.

Yep...they could be outright dominant against the run. I'm a bit more concerned about the Pass D, but even that should be improved. I wouldn't be surprised if they were the #1 D this year...very talented and excellent coaching.

Did he clarify what overuse was? Interesting to know, because as productive as he'll be on limited touches any expansion would be that much better.

13th round of a redraft league to be my RB4 this weekend...

Maybe they don't plan on "limited touches" on the offense. ;)

No they didn't. Personally that's exactly how I would use Bush in the return game...no need to risk injury to the best playmaker on your team in games that are meaningless. For those of you reaching on Bush in the first round...this is definitely a good thing. One thing you've got to love about Bush is that he's lobbying to return kicks and punts...a lot of RBs shun that opportunity, Reggie just wants the rock.

Yeah, this was the most significant tidbit IMHO. I didn't realize the Jets were forking over that much cash for his services. Barlow's going to be the guy in NY.

I grabbed him as my 3rd RB after the trade broke... a bit of a reach, but I reached all draft long. With Bush, Foster, and Barlow
Yikes. Get ready for some heartburn.
Exactly what I was thinking.

Yeah, but it's a dynasty league, and I'm building for long term... but I do think I'm pretty setQB: PalmerRB: Bush, Foster, Addai, Barlow, MorenceyWR: Larry Fitz, Matt Jones, Antonio BryantTE: Winslow, Vernon Daviswe haven't finished yet, we did the first 12 rounds live, the rest online....I've got the TUMS lined up ;) Though this post by LHUCKS obviously makes me happy :D

I've been reading all these threads about Duece and Reggie for a long time without posting. I just saw this interview on ESPNNEWS with Mort. ESPN showed some clips of Duece in camp and to tell you the truth he looked very tentative, gimpy and slow! The couple of shots they showed of Duece trying to make a cut and I could tell he was tentative and favoring the injury.

Watch tonight's football game very carefully because if Duece looks anything like the clips I saw he won't have much of an impact this year at all.

RB Brian Westbrook, who stretched ligaments in his foot two weeks ago, won't play in any of the Eagles' remaining preseason games. It's still not certain he'll be ready for the start of the season.

—WR Todd Pinkston continues to be hampered by Achilles tendonitis in both feet. He's practiced once since the start of training camp and could end up injured reserve or the PUP list.

You guys with all these Bush cracks need to get out on Friday nights more...girls don't go out to bars to hang out by themselves. ;)

K Mike Vanderjagt has been a camp disappointment. He has been inconsistent with his field goals and has missed time the last week because of a strained groin. On top of that, Vanderjagt has yet to even try to kickoff. He has not kicked off since 2003. Coach Bill Parcells wants him to kickoff in Dallas because he doesn't want to use a roster spot on an extra kicker. The Cowboys plan to test him on kickoffs in the third preseason game against the 49ers.

I'm getting married in a few weeks. I don't need to go out into bars anymore and meet women. But good luck with that. Any other latent shots you want to take or are you done?

I thought it was Barlow for a undisclosed draft pick? Did they report it wrong or was it Barlow for 10 million + pick?

—Rookie Greg Jennings continues to dazzle and might have the inside track at No. 2 receiver. Jennings unofficially had four receptions for 131 yards against the Falcons, highlighted by an 85-yard catch-and-run touchdown on a tipped pass from Aaron Rodgers late in the game. Robert Ferguson started opposite Donald Driver but wasn't much of a factor with only two catches for 21 yards. Fellow veteran Rod Gardner didn't have a catch.

It's for a 4th rounder, but he will cost the Jets 10 million. Barlow gets the money, not the niners.

10 mil over the length of the contract IF they don't ask him to restructure and all. 2.5 or 2.8 this year which if he starts(Curtis?) is not bad for a starting RB and more like "the going rate" if not less than that. I don't think of it as significant

I guess we'll have to disagree. A minimum of a 4th rounder and 10 million cash to me means they're bringing him in to be the starter.

I imagine they won't take a back that's softer than Barlow. That is unless they take Michael Bush.

With the various other needs they have, I doubt they spend a first on an RB.... highly doubt it. Now might they spend a second on an RB? No doubt at all.

They won't pass on Adrian Peterson. Guaranteed. If they aren't in the running for him, yeah I'd imagine they'd probably wait until Round 2.

I'm not understanding that as 10 mil cash ya see he's due to make 10 mil over the next 3 years and I thought that's what you meant. Please clarifyAlso that's more than he's ever made

http://asp.usatoday.com/sports/football/nf...&player=103

and we know the expectations were higher for him than what he's achieved

This is the $10 million Mort refers to. But you gotta remember that contracts are not guaranteed. If he doesn't perform this year, he gets his $2.5 million and get dumped onto the street.

And in this capacity, it would have been better if he'd stayed in SF - better homeless programs. IF you're gonna get dumped into the street, NY in winter ain't the place.Seriously though -- in reality the only thing the Jets have to lose is that 4th pick and some face. But as far as NY fans, they might get run out on a rail if we wasted that pick.

Of course, maybe most people don't know Barlow.
