Moss offered in exchange for McCown? (1 Viewer)

FOXSports.com reports "sources close" to owner Al Davis believe the Raiders will ultimately choose JaMarcus Russell with the No. 1 pick.

The Raiders are still undecided between Calvin Johnson and Russell, according to John Czarnecki, but are expected to take the quarterback because it's a greater need. The Czar adds that there was "word" Oakland offered Randy Moss to Detroit in a potential Josh McCown trade.

Something about a trade between Detroit and Oakland that makes me feel I'll be getting a good laugh no matter what the transaction is.

With all the help that Oakland needs on offense I could really see them going for any position. I really don't think Moss will be a Raider come the start of the season. Where he goes, I can only hope is either in the Martz or Favre system.

I traded for him hoping that he would get traded and going to either of these two aforementioned teams would be a steal.

Totally misleading subject line. The report says Moss "in a potential Josh McCown trade", not Moss for McCown straight up.

Randy doesn't seem like a very good fit for a Martz offense.
Neither did Roy Williams. Great OC's adapt to the talent around them.
So you expect him to change his whole offensive philosophy for Randy. Uh no. Martz bases his offense on exact timing and precise routes. Everything is choreographed perfectly. Precision is key. Sound like Randy's game?
I think if would be foolish to trade for a guy with a very well known skill set and try and force him into a situation that would not maximize it or at least utilize it. I don't see Martz as a foolish play designer or play caller. Then again this is the Lions......

To me, McCown is completely expendable. I could care less if we kept him or not. He was doing nothing for us before, and likely would never in the future. So if the Raiders want him, HAVE HIM! Would I like Moss on my team? Man, tough one. His potential is just too much to ignore. But his "quitting" issues and all are a major major concern. Not what I would think the new coach would want on his team, as he tries to start over and give them a new attitude.

I think it would depend on "what else" the Raiders want for Moss.....

what would Moss' value be in DET with Roy Williams there?
You might be asking this question slightly in the wrong way.
So are you implying that Moss' numbers would be greqater than RW's?
I'd assume he’s implying that Roy Williams is a bona fide WR1 and Moss's potential impact on his numbers are more important then what ever Moss puts up since he's no longer an elite WR.
