Most customizaeable FF league hosting site NOT named MFL (1 Viewer)

I commish a dynasty league and we host on MFL. I love how MFL is so customizable with scoring, etc etc. However, the user interface is really crude, and their waiver process is difficult to understand and causes user errors every week.

Does anyone know of a site as customizeable as MFL that has a better, more intuitive user interface and a REALLY simple, easy to use Blind Bidding waiver process?

just make sure each waiver pick up is on a separate round and you shouldn't have problems. tie breakers are easy to determine.

I hear ya. and i totally agree. I NEVER have problems. But apparently my friends are children of a lesser g-d with an inferior skillset in the brains department. We have used MFL for FOUR years now and they STILL get it wrong. The co-commish and I get at least 1 email every week that reads like this "I don't understand. I put in my waivers and didnt get my guy and no one else picked him up...wtf?!?! can you check please?" Dude...FOUR years of that. every week. Im done trying. I just want to find an easier site. LOL :wall: :wall: :wall:

Thanks! I'll check them out. You felt like it was a superior user experience to mfl?

I would find new owners over leaving MFL but thats just me. :P

As long as you don't pay those rapists at CBS though, all is well.

We r abandoning 10 years worth of cbs. They keep losing our draft results, stats/history and the waiver wire has gotten buggy. I'm considering Fleaflicker as ive heard good things. Anyone had any exposure to this hosting site? Yahoo will probably be my other option.

I've Commished a league on Flea Flicker for 5+ years now. The user interface isn't as slick as Yahoo in terms of drag and drop lineup changes, but I think there's a lot more customization in terms of starting rosters, scoring (especially on the defensive side). It also supports blind bidding waivers as well as regular waivers. All in all, for a free site I like a lot of the features they offer. The first couple weeks of the season were a little wonky as they had some server issues, but other than that, this year and previous years have been very good. I also like their mobile app much more than the Yahoo one.

wow all great posts and I thank you all very much. I will check out both RT sports and fleaflicker! I LOVE the fact that fleaflicker is FREE, but I worry that the service will be shoddy bc of that.

THANKS GUYS!

I share your concerns about Fleaflicker but im still tempted.

In my experience Fleaflicker support has been very good. I have gotten personalized responses to every question I asked. I have seen bug fixes made quickly when brought up. That said I haven't used support any since they broke off from AOL.

Fleaflicker's service is very good! It is the best free site I have used. Yahoo is less customizable and doesn't even have proper conditional waivers.

I suppose I can understand if someone wanted to bail MFL for a better interface (though not at the prices a CBS would charge).

But I'm baffled as to how changing sites is going to solve confusion over blind bidding. If you want to have conditional BB you need to have a setup with rounds to hold the list of players you want to get 1 of, like MFL does. Just what do other sites do that is different in this situation that it would help matters any to switch?

Short of putting the words "You will get 1 and only 1 of this list" on the page when they save their waiver round for those who can't grasp that on their own, I can't think of much that would help.

Given that MFL exposes almost all of their modules to outside developers, why don't you just hire a developer to code up a waiver interface screen to your specs, connect it to your MFL league, and then stay on MFL?

Do they carry over league history/stats from year to year? How's the live online draft? Any glitches or issues? As a commissioner, is there a way to do a weekly write up where you can add pics like on CBS?TIA

you can do all this at ESPN. not much customizability but great for the price

Do any of these sites allow 2 different lineups if you play 2 opponents each week? Fanball used to let you, but we aren't able to this year.

According to their help center, that's an option MFL doesn't support. That's something I don't say very often, heh.

Curious if any sites support a combo waiver system - Free agent blind bidding for the first waiver run and for subsequent waiver drops but unresricted free agent pickup for everyone else?? In other words, first waiver run is on Tuesday night (all FABB), players get dropped in that run. All players except drops from Tuesday are able to be picked up for free off the waiver wire but any player dropped is FABB the following waiver run.

MFL supports something like that. IIRC, they can distinguish between a free agent and someone on waivers. I wanted to use it in a contract dynasty league to duplicate the NFL system, so a team could claim a player from waivers but he would retain his current contract, and then once a player cleared his first waiver session he would be taken in blind bidding and the winning bid would be his salary in a new contract, and between the last BB session and the start of games there would be FCFS with a minimum price contract. The waiver and blind bidding aspects worked fine IIRC, but I couldn't get something about the contracts to work the way I wanted, so I just made everyone free agents. But the capability is there, it was just an issue with contract details that kept me from using it.

http://www.rtsports.comGreat product. Awesome customer support. Very easy to use waiver wire system. None better.Just sayin'.
This, If you want a simple very intuitive interface ( and I can also vouch for the great customer service) Rtsports is an awesome product. Ive used at least 6 or 7 different services and none top Rtsports imo. MFL is a great site (and I have a couple of leagues over there currently) but I swear if I had to move my main league over there I would have to get at least 4 or 5 new owners because they would never be able to navigate that interface.

Agreed. It's so... so very detailed that finding the most simplistic things sometimes is way too cumbersome. The waivers and draft are bit of a headache to figure out. It's without question the most appealing site as far as content but it needs a face lift.

This is the exact system we will be implementing next year. Right now on mfl we have only fabb waivers in place. So after that passes all players are locked until the next week. I have no idea yet if mfl supports your way but I intend to find out.

Agreed in all fronts. I live the IDEA of mfl and how customizable it is. But the user interface/ease of use/intuitiveness of the site needs a big time upgrade. People bash yahoo but I've been in a competitive yahoo league for 10 years running and while they are barely customizable, the one thing that everyone loves if how simple it is to navigate around the various aspects of the site. In this league we have FABB waivers and they always go really smoothly and it's so easy to figure out.

Nothing is more customizable than MFL.

But RTSports isn't a bad option. Cleaner user interface....scoring/roster settings are still very customizable. And like others have mentioned their customer support is great.

I don't disagree that it could be easier. MFL has been around forever-I mean since web design was crude. On occasion I get a WDIS Q, check out my roster here type deal and their league still has (more or less) the same looking site that it probably was 15 years ago. MFL can't go against these long time faithful customers, yet also has to appease those that want bells and whistles. It's a tough spot for them. Most companies would just force one to downgrade or one to upgrade. To their credit they wrestle with this every offseason when they improve their code. At their message boards are 4-5 guys that think MFL is web design. They might be clueless putting together a normal website, but with MFL they're geniuses. They really need to write a book- a how-to manual. In my opinion, there's a ton there that people don't know about. They also have a huge following of regular folks that will cut and paste two lines of code and say they designed their site. This is the bulk of their customers IMO. That's fine, but who know what that code will be or what these people will be customizing. It's tricky for them to back these people up and give em' a nice looking site, but they do it somehow. There's a few people that hit their MBs from time to time that like to design MFL sites for $. You should know that their code is usually code that will last several years. 100 bucks for a custom MFL site design sounds like more when you think of it for one year, rather than five or more that it might work. These guys have played FF forever and usually do this in the spring and summer for some extra coin. Ya don't pay til you're satisfied so I really recommend doing this.

Anywhere from 90 to 150 It depends on your needs. Here's the link between the two.http://www.rtsports.com/htm/comparison.shtml

I was on RTSoprts several years ago and always thought it was inferior. I preferred CBS and Yahoo to it. The catch is that every site has something bad about it. RTS did have "don't pick up X if I already picked up Y" option.

I think RTS has an option to try for free for a limited time. Then if you like it you can sign up for next year.

Thanks for the link. Thats a little pricier than I was expecting actually. It looks comparable to fleaflicker in a lot of ways except flea is free.

we had a problem drafting on mfl this year, somehow two teams were able to draft Seabass. mfl is just cumbersome/quirky and I'm tired of trying to work around a website designed in the 90's. I have to rely on too much third party addons to get features which should be built-in, and it slows down the site. I don't understand how anyone can stand those graphic monstrosities the "professional" mfl custom design people create. I just want a clean, modern website with 50% more functionality than the free sites and 50% less functionality than mfl.

Hey Ricky - I know where you came from...... ;) MFL *does* support the system you are referring to. I'm currently using it one of my leagues, and it works fine.RTS does also, FYI.RTS and MFL are similarly priced, with early signup discounts and multi-league discounts.I think RTS has a superior drafting interface, but I like MFL better for virtually everything else, INCLUDING entering player pickups. If you've got a multi-player list of pickups, you will find RTS so cumbersome that you will want to pull out your hair.

I use both currently in different leagues and disagree. Neither is perfect but all things being equal Rtsports is much, much easier to use overall. As far as costs go unless you have a huge number of team you will find Rtsports to be slightly higher than mfl but nowhere near as expensive as CBSsports.

Anyone using fox fantasy football? It's free, seems clean and has a lot of content on the surface.

My league was a bit down on it, as we were asborbed as a fanball league. But much, much better than fanball and I think it was an early learning curve, I've heard no other complaints and I think its a great site, particularly for our customizations. I would highly recommend, but I've heard they're pricey. I hate fanball, yahoo is limited and espn is a joke. second vote for rtsports here.
