What say you?

Favorite - Listening to **** Enberg as a kid call a Nolan Ryan Angel game.

1A - Chick Hearn

Hated - Ken "Hawk" Harrelson. I don't want to punch him, I want to take a tire iron to his skull every time he says "He gone"

1A - Jimmy Fox of LA Kings. Has most annoying twang at the end of a sentence.

I love hearing Jiggs McDonald call Islanders games. He still fills in from time to time.

I used to be forced to listen to Myron Cope when the Browns played the Steelers but that's too obvious for most hated. I want to gouge my eyes and ears out when CBS assigns Don Criqui to the Browns game.

I remember him when he started with the Kings

Madden was my favorite announcer. I know that he is not the best. I know many people hate him because he explained things like he was talking to 5-year olds. However, his voice meant football. It does not hurt that I became a Raider fan in the 70s. Madden will always be the favorite NFL coach for most long-time Raider fans. He could do no wrong in my book.

Hated? Dennis Miller, what a complete piece of crap.

Favorite? Tie - Don Meredith and early John Madden, they were having way too much fun and it was infectious.

Dan Kelly of the Blues and he did NHL game of the week for sometime

**** Enberg and Merlin Olsen were great together

As far as hate - we had a local TV/Radio guy on the Rockies - Wayne Hagin - couldn't stand the guy.

Love Hawk! But my favorite is Bob Barry - Voice of the Sooners (and a few wasted years with the Pokes).

Loved or love

- Marty Brennaman and Joe Nuxhall (Cincinnati Reds on radio)

- early John Madden

- Dandy Don "hey!! we're no. 1!!"

Despise

- Curt Gowdy - what a thick-headed homer jack-###

- Omar Williams (local Dayton sportscaster that did UD basketball for years ..."Boom!!")

Scully is my favorite.

Rob Dibble for the worst. As though being a Nats fan circa 2008-2009 was not punishment enough in its own right.

Favorite - Howard Cosell (halftime highlites = )

Hated - Tommy Heinsohn ... no Boston Celtics player has EVER committed a foul.

Favorite - Vin Scully
Least favorite - vin scully. Reads the media guide over and over and over.....so overrated. My wife grew up in LA and says I'm a sour#### and suck.Favorite - Wayne walker or LonSimmons. Simmons puts overrated vin to shame

Love Vin Scully and Dan Schulman

HATE Vic Router and Michael Landsberg (TSN in Canada)

Hate: Hawk. Pouty homer with old, tired clichés and worn out schtick.

I am a cubs fan but never much enjoyed Harry either. Santo was virtually unlistenable.

Really Chicago baseball announcers have been pretty poor.

Give another vote for Keith Jackson love. His voice was synonimous with college football growing up.

For Ohio State fans, I love "Big Daddy" Paul Keels, who calls the OSU games on the local Sports Station.

Also love Marv Albert's on NBA games. He just has a great announcer voice.

Hate pretty much every ESPN announcer.

I'm assuming announcer to refer to play by play guys:

Pat Summerrall - big fan of his succinct style, delivered the game perfectly without needing to put his own stamp on it.

Bob Murphy - my favorite - great childhood memories of listening to him on the radio calling Mets games; soothing, upbeat voice who could take a 9-1 Mets loss, and tell it like a wonderful story.

Waldman has to be the worst, just for her Roger Clemens gush-fest alone.
I don't wish death upon anyone, but she is testing me. I have to listen to one or two innings every night on the radio before I make it home to watch the game. Recently, she informed us that C.C. Sabathia would love to keep the lead the offense just gave him, "because he hates giving runs back."As opposed to most pitchers, who can't wait to give up the lead.

I'm assuming announcer to refer to play by play guys:

Pat Summerall - big fan of his succinct style, delivered the game perfectly without needing to put his own stamp on it.

Bob Murphy - my favorite - great childhood memories of listening to him on the radio calling Mets games; soothing, upbeat voice who could take a 9-1 Mets loss, and tell it like a wonderful story.
Two consummate professionals. Howie Rose is doing a fine job in replacing Murph; he's not at his level yet, but he knows the game and is entertaining without getting into shtick. Worst: The Yankees radio team of John Sterling and Suzyn Waldman. They are the worst announcing duo in sports; not MLB, not baseball, SPORTS. Sterling acts like people tune in to hear him and not the game, keeps regurgitating the same tired cliches over and over (every single home run is called the same; apparently he has triplets and it wouldn't surprise me if he named them High, Far, and Gone) and is just absolutely unlistenable with his selfserving baritone. Throw the Dingbat in with him with her grating squawks and it's amazing anyone can make it through a game without gnawing the radio out of their dashboard.

Favorite: Jack Buck

Least Favorite: Pat Summerall (I get not having to get all loud and crazy all of the time, but his lack of excitement when calling some huge, historic plays was terrible)

Favorite: John McEnroe and Bob Knight. Like guys who have knowledge of what it takes to be at the top and tell it like it is with no BS. Also they don't feel like they need to hype things for no reason.

Hate: **** Vitale and Gus Johnson. Opposite of guys above. Obnoxious yellers often without reason and more concerned with making/saying catchphrases than giving insight on the game though they probably can't anyway.
