Like to get a survey of thoughts on this. My own ranking of likely LB 2 or 3 production:

Alonso

Brown

Bostic

Sio Moore

T'eo

Ogletree

J Jones

Minter

Worrilow

Don't really know a whole lot about Worrilow...
I can't even find him on the ESPN player list.

Even with Smith around, I feel like Brown is most likely to "break out" this year. Then I would go Alonso, Bostic, Moore, in that order. I'm hoping Roach falters a bit so Moore might get some time in the middle, but it probably won't happen.

As the season goes I think we will see more and more of Pats Jamie Collins. He is by far the most explosive and rangy lb the pats have. He may be there best cover lb now and his forte coming in was rushing the passer.

I know he's a LB for Atlanta. But I thought they were set with Spoon Dent and Nicholas?

Oops forgot Kiko.

Smith and Brown aren't competing for playing time. Smith would be filling in for McClain until he returns from injury.

He's been getting a lot of buzz since he's been the best LB on the field during Atlanta's preseason games. Something like 18 tackes through two games so far. I doubt he displaces anyone this season barring injury, but I'm gonna keep an eye on him for dynasty purposes. He's on MFL's rosters, but ESPN hasn't caught up.

If you get a chance, just watch any of the Falcon's preseason games.. Worrilow is all over the field, even on special teams. LB is a weak spot for ATL, and besides Weatherspoon, ATL doesn't have any LBs that are irreplaceable. I'm betting he'll displace Dent or Nicolas pretty soon for a bigger role on defense.

Brown and T'eo are my top two guys but I also think Ogletree can make a big early season splash with Dunbar sitting out the first 4 games. Ogletree has the Bobby Wagner appeal to me in the early going, I think people are sleeping on him a bit too much.

Here's the problem with Worrilow (per Rotowire):

Paul Worrilow113-Year-Old Linebacker – Atlanta Falcons

This isn't correct is it? My understanding is that Smith is locked in as a starter at mike and it's Bynes and/or Brown that are filling in for McClain. Also, as of right now, I believe Bynes is ahead of Brown.

I also believe Minter is slated to be a backup. As a Minter investor I've always been under the impression that it would likely take a year for him to become a starter.

Yes
Not actually sure if you're agreeing with me or saying the post I quoted is correct. If it's the latter, can you provide some links?

That is my understanding as well.

Equating things to 2012, basically, Smith is playing the Ray Lewis role and Brown/Bynes will rotate snaps in the Ellerbe role based on sub package usage.

Is Ray-Ray Armstrong in the mix for time or just a camp sensation?
As a Rams fan I would have guessed camp sensation, but anything is possible with Jo-Lonn Dunbar out with that suspension. Right now Armstrong is still probably behind Jonathan Stewart on the depth chart, unless something changes after the 4th preseason game. That said, he will likely make the team and could see a couple snaps. It's unlikely he gets more than that unless there are some significant injuries.

I should add - Ray Ray will definitely be used heavily on special teams, but a role beyond that is probably a long shot.

Becomes even more interesting with Dunbar now out of the picture.

Do they see Stewart or Armstrong stepping up to take the role or does Witherspoon hold down the fort?

Given Dunbar's numbers last season someone could be in line for at least decent depth value if they claim the job.

The problem is that Ogletree was going to cut into Dunbar's number even if he didn't get suspended. Ogletree is going to play the nickel role that Dunbar did last year.
