Most overrated player (1 Viewer)

my vote for Philly is Tra Thomas (and I dont care what he says I'm not going to call him "william")

for ten years I've heard people talk about him as a "bookend" Offensive Tackle but it just ain't the case. Local people have justified the Eagles taking Thomas over Randy Moss by saying things like, "You dont need a great WR to win and OT are more important." well, I say this is total Bull***t.

my second place vote for most overrated Eagle is Lito Sheppard. yeah he's blazing fast but he's not even the best cover CB on the team.

a close third is LJ Smith... potential can only buy you so much in this league

***BUMP***

Randle El was a SB hero, and left town. Shaun Alexander stayed in Seattle, but Hutchinson left. Brandon Lloyd and Lavar Arrington joined the NFC East. A few things have changed since we last ran this, but I thought it was one of the more interesting threads from the beginning of the year.

Lots of us don't get to watch the same team every week. Who do you notice on your favorite team that doesn't meet the hype?
Anthony Macfarland is only still on the Bucs because Kiffin doesn't have a replacement (yet). This will be his last year on the Pewter Crew though. As far as fantasy relevance, TE Alex Smith is a great football player, but I had a good laugh when people scrambled the waiver wires for him after W1 last season.

IMO, he'll have another big game this opener, but don't expect much from him after that. Until the OL can prove that they can keep DL's hands down so Simms can throw over the middle once in a while, you won't see Smith climbing up any rankings.

He's not a sleeper this year, nor is he a lock for anything but a W1 TD (or two).

I've been very disappointed with Edell Shepherd. He was supposed to emerge as the WR3 and maybe WR2 for the Bucs, and after being lost for the season in '04, he did nothing last year, and I don't see any daylight for him as even a deep sleeper this year, now that Gruden has shifted to a more run-oriented West-Coast system that favors the larger, more physical receivers (Clayton, Boston, Stovall, more to come I'm sure).

since this thread started the packers signed charles woodson to a big money deal. when healthy and motivated he's a pro-bowl player...too bad he hasn't been either in quite a while (the tuck rule game against the pats?)

the most overrated packer is now charles woodson

For what the Raiders were spending on him, I'm glad I can take him off my list. Now I will have to go with "Alligator Arms" Porter. All ability. I could also go Barry Sims. Regarded as one of the best pass-blocking LTs during the Gruden and Super Bowl year, he has been the best turnstile over the last two.

This one is EASY: TOM BRADY!

OOPS! Think my avatar blew my cover.
