Most overrated/underrated players by team (1 Viewer)

Titans:

VY = Lhucks is smiling

Roos = damn straight. but wait, we're being told that the Titans can't draft.

I don't like that he put Young and Rivers as OR because they're "not there yet" but they probably will be by the end of the year or "give them time". If they fulfill their expectations, and soon as he implies, how can they be overrated? It's just a difference in definitions, but IMO an overrated player is not as good as he was or as good as people say he is and will never be. Someone who is still learning and who he even says will be good can't be overrated, they're still on their way up.

Thanks for the link because I wouldn't have seen the article otherwise but I'd say at least 1/2 are the usual suspects(which always makes me wonder just how over/under rated they are in the first place).

Are guys like Newman(DAL)/Allen(KC)/Rhodes(NYJ) really underated? And Franks(GB)/Spicer(JAX) overated?

Roos has played very well, he was a guy I hoping would fall to the Jags in that draft. But I even happier with the Titans passing on Khalif Barnes to take Roos and Khalif falling to the Jags. I think Roos has played well enough to justify the pick, but I'd still rather have Barnes.

I was thinking the same thing, how can Paul Spicer be overated? Most of the selections in this article don't provoke much thought at all.

Pete Prisco, is overrated. About Carr, Prisco says: "He will take over as the team's starting quarterback at some point and show the Houston Texans they made a big mistake."

is he for real? maybe he was drunk when he wrote that?

Has he seen the same David Carr play in Houston?!

It's Pete Prisco. Did you expect something halfway intelligent?

While I don't think the Texans staff will look at his play and wish they had him, Carr will do better in Carolina than he did in Houston.

I think this article was intended for the average fan not fantasy geeks like us. I'm guessing the average football fan outside of NY & Dal may not really know much about guys like Newman & Rhodes. While knowing that Franks has been a probowler before the average fan might still think he's decent and not the piece of garbage that he has become.

I'm not generally a fan of these lists, but for what it's worth...this one didn't strike me as terribly inaccurate.

Sure, there are some I don't agree with, but at this point of the year, I will take any NFL news anyone is willing to write!!

Have to agree. I thought the Steelers were spot on. Then again, lists like this are generally like shooting fish in a barrel.

WR Darrell Jackson. If they think he's going to cure their receiver problems, they are wrong. He's not better than Antonio Bryant, the guy they let go. Jackson drops a lot of passes.
:lmao:

Overrated CB Sam Madison. Once upon a time he was a great man cover corner. You'd never know it now.
I don't see how Madison can possibly be considered overrated at this point in his career when everyone thinks he sucks. Maybe he has a different definition of "overrated" than everyone else. Or maybe he wrote this article 4 years ago and is now just getting around to posting it on the website.

A lot of the overrated players were free agent signings. That seems hard to claim those players as overrated since they haven't played a down for their new teams. I can understand if an older player past their prime gets a huge payday, but I don't think that that has happened that much this offseason.

Franks and Madison stuck out to me also. What yahoo is overrating them anymore?

:goodposting: Not saying it will happen, but I agree many are underrating Carr, as you are showing. Behind that OL anyone would've been hard-pressed to succeed. If Shaub doesn't fall flat on his butt (figuratively and literally ie a lot) I'll be amazed.
