Nothing in the world of sports is more annoying than when I hear/read "JOHN CLAYTON CONFIRMS <insert scoop made by a more diligent reporter here>". He never gives credit to the original person who broke the story, just chimes in and "CONFIRMS" it... like he is the f'in Quality Control inspector for all things NFL related. :bag:

Clayton gets my vote. But because there is no shortage of annoying NFL “experts” all over our televisions, computer screens, and sports related publications, I figured I would start this poll to see who it is that you think is the most worthless of these egotistical blowhards.

:bag:

John Clayton is the one of the very very select few at ESPN who isn't a complete moron.
No question. It's amazing how he keeps such a sweet gig despite never breaking any quality scoops on his own. You gotta be pretty sharp to be able to pull it off. :)

What's Gary Myers about?

I see headlines from him all the time that seem so assinine I don't even read it.

You should try rereading the post you quoted. You might actually get the meaning of it and understand you're giving a thumbsup to a post that you actually disagree with.

Meyers is a complete idiot. He ripped the Jets for not following recent SB champions because they have been signing FA's. He says you build throught the draft, using the NYG as one of his examples. Shall I go through all of the Giants FA signings starting with Plax? I think not, a waste of time. Let's also foregt that Leon, Rhodes, Harris, Cotch Mangold, Moore (who he also bashed the Jets for because they let him test FA before re-signing him) and Brick were drafted, that means nothing to Meyers. Now he is ripping the Jets for not getting Cutler. :whoosh: And just what QB would the Jets give Denver in return? Or should the Jets part with a couple of first round picks for him? But Gary, you just said build through the draft. This guy is a dillweed. I voted "other". Gary Meyers. Biggest tool to ever sit behind a keyboard. Seriously.

Most worthless mainstream NFL reporter = I'll go with Peter King

Most worthless mainstream NFL coverperson = I'll go with DeAngelo Hall

I voted for Mariotti. That joker wanted an investigation of the Cassell trade to KC. Said it smelled fishy because of the Pioli - Belichick relationship. :stirspot:

Mortensen is worse than Clayton, as far as the ESPN guys go.
No way. Mort is one of the few I can stomach. He may not always nail it with his info, but who does every time? At least he's not full of himself, or have a whiny voice.
I guess you missed this little incident then.

Jemele Hill is the most worthless waste of breathe on TV and ink on paper. I usually watch ESPN for the hell of it but she is the only person that makes me turn it off. Bayliss and Paige say things they don't believe but at least there is some entertainment in it even if they are making asses of themselves. She is just horrid.

The only stories that Peter King breaks are his incorrect reads on if Brett Favre will retire. His proclamation that everyone should take Danny Wuerffel very early in their fantasy drafts was the icing on the cake.

Mariotti is also an idiot.
