Mowing (1 Viewer)

I would say before 9am any day (never know if a neighbor is sleeping in) but I actually shoot for 10am. I mow both my own 2 acres plus the local shelters 3 acres. I won't even go get my mower from the shed to drive it up to my trailer before 10am.

Had a neighbor that liked to party until 4 AM with load music and guests. I always mowed at 7 AM on those days.

What are opinions on etiquette on mowing when neighbours are outside i.e. eating lunch or enjoying a beer in their backyard? The noise can be annoying, at the same time, so is looking at your neighbours ####ty unkepmt grass because they were too polite to mow it.

I would say 9, but most commercial companies start earlier than that.

It's better to cut the grass when the morning dew has dried off anyways. I'd rather mow when it's completely dry. I live in humid FL tho, so this may not be a problem for everyone.

I asked because my neighbor was out mowing his lawn at 7:15 this morning.

It didn't bother me as I was up already, but my wife and 3 kids were all still sleeping.

I may have to put some acid in his drink next time he comes over.

10am... 9am at the earliest on weekends

Too much earlier and the paintball gun comes out to play.

weekday?the lawn crews are usually starting around here that time

I have a Lithium Ion powered mower. I could mow at midnight and no one would bat an eyelid

That is when I have my sprinklers going to send a message. Before 8 is too early.

Do you run them everyday? I've only got mine set to run Tuesday/Friday.....even then they are set to go off around 5am

I don't do it, but I think 7:00 on the weekends should be perfectly fine. 8:00 at the absolute latest.

If you are tired or hung over enough to still be sleeping past 8:00, you should be able to sleep through a neighbor's lawnmower. If you can't sleep through a lawnmower when the sun is out, maybe move to the country.

If the neighbor's got #### to do on a Saturday and needs to it done and get going, so be it. I don't care.

I'm not an early mower, but I don't think there should be tiptoeing around worrying about waking the neighbors when the sun is out.

Depends. Most of my neighbors are older with no kids. As a courtesy I never mow earlier than 8 am but that is probably not necessary. If there were more young children around I would not mow earlier than 9 am.

I have a friend who got charged with a felony for shooting a car with a paintball gun.

Really depends on the neighborhood. I don't worry about anything after eight. Just did an hour and a half of chain sawing and branch hauling. Everyone is up around here. When I lived in a younger neighborhood? Nine at the earliest. If I was even up myself.

This may be an unpopular opinion, but I'm both fine with people mowing at 8 am and people throwing a party that goes late into the night. People should probably accept that not everyone had the same lifestyle.

Damn hippie.

I don't see the argument that weekdays should be treated any different than weekends. Plenty of people work weekends and will have weekdays as their days off that they can sleep in. If it's rude to do on a weekend it's rude to do on a week day.

Why do you guys need gas powered mowers?

Whats wrong with the old non electric ones?

Better yet why dont they make mowers with quiet electric motors?

May have something to do with the fact that used to be late night party guy and now I'm early morning mowing with two kids guy. I choose to be happy for you guys that can still do it instead of being bitter and passive aggressive.
