Musa Smith - re-signs with Balt (1 Viewer)

had good college numbers

and your 100 percent correct .. pre-season work .. but that would go hand in hand with what i was saying

WHEN HEALTHY - mostly pre-season ... when he was healthy

during the season .. has NEVER been giving a chance .. we have no idea what he would do with 20 carries in a game .. so the only thing you can go by or try to go by is the skills shown in pre-season

forget the stats . they mean nothing .. but the BURST and the SPEED he showed during camp has always been good .. and interesting

Lots of guys look good in limited duty. It's "Can he do this 20 times a game for 16 weeks?" that NFL coaches ask.

MOOOOOOOOO-SA!! MOOOOOOOOO-SA!!

OK, so now they go add Dill- :) or re-sign JLew (low-end cheap money starters), and my boy Musa will still have a shot at the starting job by midseason by staying healthy and outperforming the incumbent.

OK, it ain't gonna happen (word is McGahee may be coming to town), but this Musa owner can still dream. :lmao:

I wouldn't minimize the "when healthy" - that goes a long way towards gaining confidence by the coaching staff. And that's something that Musa hasn't done. Not only that, but while Lewis wasn't horrible last year, he wasn't exactly lighting it up. If the staff liked Musa that much, they would have given him at least some meaningful carries like Chester Taylor did the year before.

Musa Smith is a great 'Buy Now' player because I'm sure plenty of owners are sleeping on the Ravens RB situation.
Bumped. Just wondering how things are looking for Musa early on.
He will serve as McGahee's backup all season...maybe he gets 60-80 carries tops in relief. Have no delusions about McGahee, how soft the 1st 7 games are for Baltimore out of the box, and also how much McGahee will rack up while the Ravens work the clock in the 2nd half of a lot of their football games. After you draft McGahee at the end of round 1 you should be able to lock up Musa Smith in the 12th round or later no problem...shouldn't have much value to non McGahee owners.

Mike Anderson's still on the roster, no? Is Musa the guarenteed back-up?
My uneducated guess is that Mike anderson will probably be the primary backup, while Musa may see some 3rd down fill in due to a bit more versatility than MA. If McGahee went down, I'd guess the two would split the carries. His biggest value (to the Ravens) is probably his special teams ability, where he's always been a force.

I own Musa in my Dynasty... Dude's a preseason stud that has never brought it to the regular season. I was pissed that he resigned with Balt, hoping he would go somewhere else and start fresh. He's going to end up on the FA list this coming season as soon as I need the roster space.
