Santana had like 900 guys on that stage. They each got like $50. Canned Heat and Richie Havens getting more that CSN&Y surprises me.

Thought this was out a long time ago.

18k for a festival performance in today's music industry is a pittance, but back then it wasn't too bad.

Just for the sake of context- two years after Woodstock, Muhammad Ali had his first fight against Joe Frazier, billed as the biggest fight in 20 years and the "Fight of the Century." The fighters were paid 2.5 million each, the largest purse to that point in boxing history.

Mayweather-Pacquio is estimated to gross 400 million. The amount the fighters will be paid is undisclosed, (except that its 60-40) but it's likely to be about 50 times what Ali and Frazier earned, or more.
