Well the last time I posted this question LT won by 109 -35- 9.

"The Nin9" had suggestions of Drew Brees, McNabb, even Colston???

Well in one week:

Peyton loses! Smile.

McNabb is out! Sorry DM...wishing you a speedy recovery.

Brees had a whale of a game in a losing effort. (510yds)

And LT Tops 1000 yards Rushing...and scores 4 more times (and Reached 100 career TD's in only 89 games.)

I'm the 1st vote for anyone other than L.T.? I can't deny that he's the frontrunner for the award, but in the definition of "Most Valuble," I think the Colts flat-out suck w/o Peyton while S.D. could remain competetive w/Turner. For the record, I'm pretty cool w/L.T. and can't stand Manning.

Actually...I like them both...But I disagree with your Turner arguement...he can break a great run, sure...but I think you are making a catagory mistake when you put him in the same level with LT.

can we please get past this flawed definition of the MVP award? It's not an award for the player most better (sic) than his backup. It should be for the player who most helped his team win games. Or, perhaps even better, for the player you would pick first in a draft if you knew that each player would perform precisely as they actually did.

I understand what you guys are saying, but I'm not talking about their specific backups. For the sake of argument, let's take equal level players from other teams to plug in. Give the Colts a top 10-20 QB and the Chargers a top 10-20 RB and see which team still performs. In my OPINION, Manning is worth more wins to the Colts than L.T. is for the Chargers. If not because he is a better football player, then because if everything is equal, a top-flight QB is worth more to their team than a top-flight RB.

To dispute your definition, how many teams do you think would take a future Hall of Fame LT over a future Hall of Fame RB? I would guess maybe 50% or better, but I certainly haven't seen 1/2 as many LTs voted MVP as RBs, let alone an equal amount... or for that matter, has there EVER been one?

I agree that without Peyton...the Colts would be struggling...However you take LT away from the Chargers...there's no way in Hades any other "Top Flight" RB (Healthy Shaun, LJ, etc.) (Tiki Barber would be a closest match for RB type.) and they put up the same game that LT has in the past 6 Weeks (20 TD's, 1043yds).Without LT...I say the Bolts lose at least 4-5 of those 6 games...and Rivers would not have the same good fortune either. LT is the leading Scorer, Rusher, and Reciever of his team...Peyton...the guys a genius/artist, and I love the way he calls his own plays and runs the no-huddle all the time...but I just don't see him toping LT's performence this season.Guess we agree to disagree.

Get over it. If I put a poll up that asks who's hotter, Jessica Simpson or Janet Reno - Reno would get some votes from those that just want to spite the originator of the poll. Regular season awards don't mean squat, anyway. As a Colts fan I know this.
