So how did the little honey standing next to you turn out?
Funny you should ask. Not well. Ran into her about 5 years ago. Just divorcing her 2nd husband. 3 kids...1 with each husband and one with some other guy. Looks like 40 miles of bad road.

But you'd still do her, right?

"Colonel" Howard Nichols?
The school is named for Colonel Howard Nichols, a Colonel in the armed forces during World War II. Colonel Nichols was a local contractor following the war. He built many of the houses in the Nichols School area. He donated the land for the school to Bakersfield City School District. The school opened in 1961. Colonel Nichols often attended performances by Nichols School children.
oh. I thought that was the teacher's name on the right.

This thread inspired me to pull out some boxes and start looking at old elementary through high-school stuff. The hairstyles are making me really, really :goodposting:

Did you yell at your mom for putting you in those pants, especially on picture day?
I'm willing to bet that neither one of us knew it was picture day. Heck, I still don't remember when it is. Every year, on picture day, I show up to school and see the photographer's van and say "oh yeah...it's picture day."

We need a more recent photo then. How 'bout this year's?

You know, teach, most people use laser pointers nowadays.

 Some people just get excited about teaching.

What became of Mrs. Loewen? And what about Goldilocks (above your left shoulder)?
No idea what happened to Mrs. Loewen or the blonde girl. Now the girl in pink over my other shoulder...that's a sad story. She grew up and became a teacher. In fact she teaches at that same school. She married a guy we went to Jr Hi with. He was a great guy and stud basketball player. Went D-I and then played professionally over in Europe and the Middle East. One day he's playing in a pick-up game at the park (which is only about 100 yards from where that class photo was taken) and he had a fatal heart attack. He had one of those freaky 'athlete heart syndrome' things. He couldn't have been over 26 or 27.
