my business is failing (1 Viewer)

Due to NYS law I have to publish legal notices for 6 weeks or after 120 days from the formation of the company they revoke my LLC.

Its going to cost about $600 and I have to begin the notices in 2 weeks.

Now with a full time job I have no time or energy to run the business. My views have dwindled to a couple dozen a week from a high of 200 the first week because I have no advertising.

I dont have much to spend on advertising, nor do I even know howi should do it.

I have only sold one shirt to my BIL. I have 70 shirts just sitting around.

Im already almost down $1500. I dont know if I will be able to ever make this viable.

A lot of people said they to buy a shirt but nobody did once I opened the website. Idk if it is just because of a lack of advertising or just a lousy product.

I wear my shirts almost every day and even I dont like them.

:-(

Market research, lots of hard work, tenacity-

All of the above seems to be missing.

Keep your day job and fold the 'business'. Chalk it up to a learning experience

I don't know everything about business but I do know good companies sell their products to people who want to buy them. Maybe try doing that?

Actually good companies make products their customers (market segment) want to buy. It's a subtle difference, I know....

I have to make a decision soon if im going to go forward or have to abandon it.

Its heartbreaking and its just starting to hit me so I wont know how I will feel in a week or so.

Nobody who said they wanted one actually bought one.
So your market research was a fail.

And you are closing up shop less than two months in (tenacity fail).

Two out of three.

I'm not saying you are wrong to do so. The principal mistake was the market research. If you get that wrong, you're in for a long hard ride if you fail to do the sales effort (lots of hard work).

Given that you seem to have whiffed on the market, and are not willing to put in the sales effort, let it go as a learning experience

Mad that em doubled down killing it with the Check Cashing job schtick so you tried taking one deep here huh?

Take a little time to figure it out. You've been here for less than a year and you're pushing 5,000 posts. Methinks your eye isn't on the ball. Your excepional IQ agrees, yes?

People don't like wearing shirts with cocks on them? I'm stunned.
I guess they don't like ###### shirts either.

Although, to be fair, the giant hoo hah was totally unintended and coincidental.

Still, it's like people just stopped buying offensive shirts the moment OP went into business.

Just crazy stuff.

Those are the things im trying to figure out.

Technically it wouldnt be foldingbthe business, I would just be letting the LLC lapse while still having my stock on hand to try again in the future if I wanted.

The biggest problem is finding the time. Even if I managed to get a steady stream of sales then I have to find the time to produce new products regularly which right now looks impossible.

There is a link to my store in my sig if you dont think this is real.
Oh, Im sure you make up shirts to sell.

The LLC and all the other crap is what Im saying you are pulling out because of the attention he is getting.

Its like a stupidy schtick off.
My LLC is formed snd registered with the statr.

Wtf are you talking about?

Yeah...for as much as you have bragged about how smart you are...you really are clueless.

Wait, so you bought some t-shirts and can't sell them online? What does this have to do with a business? I haven't been around much lately. Can I get a link?
Not just bought, I designed them.

Ill try to find the link to the original thread.

When is the search supposed to function?

This place has had some horrible schtick lately. I mean some of these stories have potential, but then they go off the rails pretty quickly. This alias sucks. The Eminence alias sucks. I'm disappointed. We need something better around here.

There are companies who specialize in providing public notice requirments for llcs for cheap.(basically publishing in cheap trade journals) Google it. New York may be old fashioned. Don't know. Sell on ebay with good keywords or Etsy. No one cares about your website. Maybe try Goth Queen of Blades keyword for ebay but Blizzard might bother you.

This, boys and girls, is why we don't pre-buy inventory without purchase orders for new companies.

Oh, and remember that sales girl who wouldn't give you the time of day because you were so small time? She looks like the genius now doesn't she?

While I'm sure it is disappointing your tshirt business is a failure, have some perspective. It wasn't all that long ago you were blowing guys for your next hit of heroin. Overall, it seems like things are looking up for you. You have a job, you no longer live in a halfway house and if you blow guys these days it is for personal pleasure instead of for the chance to stick a dirty needle in your arm.
