My drafts are done (1 Viewer)

Rounders

Footballguy
So I finished my last draft (4th) of the season last week. Please no early drafting bashing. My question is simple, what do I do now?

For those of you who have finished their drafts early this year or in the past, what do you usually do?

My plan:

1) Review my roster, look for strengths and weaknesses.

2) Assess which players are tradeable and untradeable

3) Review bye weeks of my players and plan out my solutions

4) Review Waiver Wire to see if there are any players undrafted that could help my team

5) Review other teams for trade partners

6) Follow news of my players and others.

Am I missing anything?

Did you update your signature or post your squad in the AC forum yet? That is the pro-play.

Watch the baseball stretch run.

Exercise.

Stop surfing FF sites at work for a couple of weeks.

Catch up on what the wife's been doing for the past three weeks.

I always like to check the schedule and see how you matchup against your opponents. It's nice to find that you may catch some bye-week breaks - playing the guy who has Manning on the Colts bye week. Also you can see when opponents have easy games and again think about how you can improve your team for these weeks.

Then go back to drinking.

Drink. Heavily.
Sit around. Watch your players drop like flies as they get injured in preseason and wonder why the people running the leagues had your draft so damn early.
Like I said please no early draft bashing. Not that I have to explain it to you, butdue to an owners new job and future move (over Labor Day weekend) we decided as a group to have the group earlier so that we can all be there in person. Our league has been around for 12 years and we have learned that the draft is a lot more fun when everyone is there in person.

That covers one draft, but not the other three. But like you said, no early draft bashing...right?I guess you hope nobody gets hurt or loses their starting job in the next couple of weeks. You could also encourage other owners to use their waiver wire spot before week one, moving you up the priority list for when you'll need it. Or, if a lesser player of yours has an awesome preseason game, try and trade them for an better guy who's sitting out until week one. Maybe an inexperienced owner will trade you someone like Westbrook for a guy who looks great plowing through future CFL players in a preseason game.

Very true, especially for older leagues where it gets tougher to get everyone together. At this point, all you can do is follow the games and hope nobody important to you gets hurt. You can look at bye weeks and how they'll impact you schedule....of course I did that for one of my teams and it just made me depressed.

Start throwing out lame trade offers to the other members of your league... at least that is what the GMs in my leagues are doing now that we have completed our drafts

Tell your wife that your draft for the last league is not completed as of yet.

That way you don't have to do a damn thing around the house or spend time with her.

Just keep acting like you have to stay up late to prepare for the last rounds of the draft. Very important.

Besides you really don't want to have to lay next to this :bag: .

:D
