My Ideal FF System (1 Viewer)

I am very frusterated by the injury bug in FF and trying to guess who is going to play each week. I like deciding on starters based on match-ups, just not guessing game-time decisions.

In 2 of my 7 leagues run by MFL, we use backup options but they require manually re-running line-ups if a starer Does Not Play. Sort of a pain and still no tthe best fix for the problem.

I am totally tired of game-time decisions as my schedule on Sunday is just too busy to be glued to where I need to be.

Here is what I want.

I want to rank order players by position each week and to fill out the game score based on who played each quarter of the game.

So say it is a start 2 RB league. That is 8 quarters that need to be filled. The scoing would start at the top of the RB rank and if the top-most player played at all in a quarter, his score goes for the 1st of the 8. When the top-most did not play, it most to the next to full that quarter. Stop when 8 quarters have been filled. Each week, you set your roster by setting rankings at each position.

This way, it never seems like I have two few men on the field, which should never really happen if you have good players on your bench.

Does anybody know of a system that approaches this? Is there a good way to approximate on MFL I do not know about?

Thanks in advance,

OOKOOK!

no scoring method of my knowledge can handle separating quarters

gamedayritual.com makes you set a depth chart and it reaches down to find the highest priority player(s) that played and puts them automatically in your lineup, but they are not really fantasy football, more a simulation league

one of the best ways to score a league that has owners who can't glue themselves to TV or web 24/7 is "bestball" which grabs your highest scoring player(s) from your roster that week to field the lineup, MFL can do this and it rewards depth over stud/scrub philosophy

i need to find one of those leagues cause i am not very good sometimes at starting the right guys

Thanks Lash.

The idea with the quarters is that I used to play in a fantasy basketball league where you would have, say, 96 guard minutes to fill. It would then keep reaching down your ranked lineup.

ALSO, it handled dual eligibility great.

I haven't seen anything exactly like this, but in searching for the service we use now I swear I came across a page where you could make substitutions at any point during a game. I decided to skip that because I could picture myself blurry eyed in front of 10 TVs, trying to see which of my running backs was facing 3rd and 15 and which was looking at a 3rd and 2--no thanks! Sorry I can't remember where it was, but maybe if you googled for key phrases like "substitution" "during game" etc.Good luck!
