My life after the passing of my wife - 9+ years later!!! (1 Viewer)

Really hope she can get in before that doc leaves. While medically it may not make a diff, it sure does in such scary situations. I had a change of doc midstream (not a surg though) and this guy has a bedside manner of a rock. Makes a diff. Hopefully if surg needs to change that it would be an equally great one. There's enough stress without having to deal with someone who looks like they'd rather be on the golf course..

 
Sorry to report my wife, suddenly and unexpectedly, passed away this morning without ever receiving "the call" we were waiting for.

We all left the house at the same time this morning.  I to take my son to the train station so he could go back to school and then off to work.  My wife was driving herself to a blood work appointment then to the spa to get her nails done.  She seemed fine.  Didn't look sick, she didn't ask me to drive her which meant she felt good enough to drive (if she didn't feel well enough she wouldn't have driven).  Looking back, neither my son or I noticed anything out of the ordinary.  This was at 8:00am.  At 10:00am I get a call from the emergency room that  she was in full respiratory arrest and they were asking me what her wishes were regarding resuscitation.  My mind went totally blank.  I left work and rushed to the hospital but didn't make it in time.  She basically collapsed in the entry way to the hospital (the spa is apart of the hospital).  She obviously had a catastrophic respiratory/cardiac/liver related event.  I'm glad she was were she was and not driving when it happened.

I want thank everybody that expressed their best wishes, thoughts and prayers for my wife and family since I started this threat.  I'm a relatively unknown on this board but you all embraced the situation.

Please keep my son and I in your prayers while prepare for what follows.

Wow..I didn't see this thread until now too.   My deepest condolences to you and your family.   I'm sorry for your loss and I send you my thoughts and prayers.    

 
So incredibly sorry to hear.  After the long battle I can't imagine how you are handling this unexpected turn.  Truly wishing you and your family the best through these awful times.

OMG! NOOoooo. :(   So so sorry for your loss. This pisses me more off about those who refuse to be organ donors. Post if there's anything we can do. I'm gutted. Was so rooting for her but alas the same thing happened to her as happened to my bff who passed waiting for a heart a couple years ago. Ts & Ps. X

 
My deepest sympathies to you, your son, and your family and friends.  I am so sorry to hear of your loss :(   I have no other words except to urge the folks here to check the organ donor box on their licenses and make your intentions known.  God Bless.

I am so sorry for you, your family and of course your wife.

I don't know what to say, other than my thoughts are with you and I feel for you.  

 
This is unbearably sad, horrible to read this. I offer you my sympathy and prayers. Hang in there, lean on loved ones and friends, let them carry you through this. I wish the best for you and your son, your strength will help carry him through too.

Oh my god, I missed this thread before this morning, and I'm so incredibly sad for your loss.  I can't even begin to imagine all you've been through, but you've clearly been a loving husband and father throughout.  Thoughts and prayers and support to you.

I can't even imagine how you feel right now. How devastating. I'm so sorry. Praying that you and your son will be able to find peace through the grieving process.

 
I've been actively following your thread/updates and this is a gut punch.  I'm so sorry for you and your son's loss.  May you somehow find peace and comfort in the day's ahead. 

 
Omg I am in total shock and deeply saddened by this news. You and your poor son have been through so much and I am truly sorry for what happened. You're in my thoughts. Lean on family and friends for support and I hope you find some peace in the future.
