This thread was off the rails from the very first post.  Nobody has any idea how Hillary would have handled this.  I think she would have listened to the health experts just like Trump did.  However, doubtful she would have stopped travel from China so early.

Hillary would have left travel from China open no doubt, and probably force some ridiculous unconstitutional national lockdown. Add the 2 wars she probably would have started along the way.

I don’t like Hillary either but why is it acceptable to say this about her but not about Trump?

I don’t care that anyone says things like that about her or Biden or Sanders but it bothers me that it cant be said about Trump for some reason.

Thats what we have an intelligence community apparatus. And, apparently, they were all over this thing.  They warned Trump repeatedly.  And he ignored those warnings is reprehensible.  
 

Even worse, when it was public domain that this #### was serious, he doubled down and said everything’s fine.  We got this contained. Go about your business, nothing to see here.  Wasted 2 months getting ready and now we are in a prolonged fight to save lives, using precious resources to keep the economy afloat, and we are the model to the world of what not to do in a pandemic.  But, yeah, China.

I just told you what Trump did that saved lives that Hillary would never have done.  A task force wouldn't have helped one bit.

I have no clue.  I’m no Hillary fan at all and won’t presume to know what she would have done.  

As I said in here before this is an impossible situation for whomever was in charge, I don’t like everything Trump has done but that doesn’t mean he’s screwed everything up or he’s completely responsible either.  

I truly believe Trump leaderships skillset is by far his weakest point so he’s not the guy I want in charge in times like this, but absolutely anyone in charge at this point would have made mistakes or decisions we’d question.

Trump didn’t close flights either. Some 40,000 people came in...zero screening.  People coming in after that from places like South Korea and Italy...no screening.

Here's what we do know about how Trump handled this.  The US response has been lackluster at best.  Lack of coordinated testing allowed the virus to spread.  And the US will end up close to the top in first world deaths per capita.

And Trump continues to lie and blame states, governors, and now the WHO.

Hard to imagine anyone handling this worse.

Deaths per capita is skyrocketing daily.  At the end of this we will be in the top 5 of death per capita for industrialized countries.  It's sad but the reality.

I hope it slows down and I'm wrong.  Heck, I'll take outside the top 10 at this point in time.
