N. Korea inches closer to being able to send a nuclear-tipped missile to the U.S. (1 Viewer)

We're supposed to have a defense system in Alaska for this.  I worked on its early development many years ago.

North Korea is about 10,000 km from the United States. A couple of inches won't make any difference.

Don't worry, Donald is going to take care of North Korea so fast it will make your head spin, believe me.

I suppose he's with the Orange one, prepping for the mission
Actually I looked him up on Google and um...he might be a little busy...

:lmao:

i can't even provide the link for it, I'll get suspended. But Google latest news for Dennis and how he broke a certain part of his anatomy 3 times and be sure to watch the video...

Crooked Dennis?

I'm astounded that they can launch anything that doesn't blow up just after takeoff.  I mean, our stuff blows up sometimes after takeoff.

I'm not worried. I watched something back in the 80's where the government developed a laser system to intercept missiles before they re-enter the atmosphere. They had it set up at an abandoned drive in theater and used the screens as giant reflectors.

For some reason this doesn't help me feel more secure.

they're probably just talking about remote alaska which doesn't really count
Can they take out Palin?

We'd better put up some Patriots or what ever they are called today

In all seriousness this is a difficult situation- we need to find ways to pressure North Korea through a coalition that includes China. There's lots of complicated diplomacy ahead for us.

Does anybody in their right mind trust Donald Trump to handle this correctly???

Let Hillary handle it...ISIS needs a North Korean chapter...

GWB COS was on one of the news shows this morning.  Said the bigger worry about them with rockets isn't hitting us, it's shooting a nuke into space then detonating it when it orbits over north america thereby ruining our electric grid.

Is that all it would take?  I would have to imagine the Russian's could have done this decades ago if they had wanted.

Meet the new boss - same as the old boss. Un vs Il

But Saints. if diplomacy is not the answer, what is?
I'm sure diplomacy is the answer, but this is a crummy result. Good diplomacy is needed. My sense is we had a deal that they thought would be the next president's problem or the one after that. This reminds me of the Russia situation. It's not enough to get a 'win', the peace has to be maintained.

Is the thinking that it would mimic a solar storm? I wonder if the amount of radiation and scope would be enough to reproduce those kind of effects? Maybe they are thinking satellite disruption, but their orbit is often so far out, it's hard to imaging it would disrupt them.

Look up the Kessler syndrome

That, by the way, was a 22 year old video, which I am sure you are aware....

The EMP caused by a nuclear explosion at the right altitude would basically fry most electronics and we would be back to the stone age.  The Russians didn't do it because they were rational and we would have destroyed them with submarine and bomber launched nukes.  The problem is a completely irrational regime getting nukes and ballistic missiles.  They might think it is worth becoming a glowing pile of rubble to take down the US.

The NorKoreans are a puzzle for sure, but it needs to be solved, and really it needs to be solved by the Chinese. IMO we somehow have to entice them to do so.
