HARRIS SIGNS WITH VIKINGS
Posted by Mike Florio on October 16, 2008, 7:10 a.m.
Linebacker Napoleon Harris has agreed to terms with the Vikings, bringing him back to the team where he emerged as a solid middle linebacker in 2006.
And then he cashed in with the Chiefs via free agency.
But after one year in Kansas City, Harris disappeared. He hadn’t played in a single game during the 2008 season, and the Chiefs tried to trade him before cutting him on Tuesday.
Per the Minneapolis Star Tribune, the Vikings persuaded Harris to cancel a visit to Detroit (it probably didn’t take a lot of arm twisting) and then got Harris under contract when he came to Minnesota.
Harris could become the starting middle linebacker after the Vikings emerge from their bye week, which follows their Sunday game against the Bears.
