Nate Burelson (1 Viewer)

First and foremost, Nate Burleson has a sprained knee. His status is unclear. Here's why: Burleson told Eric Williams that he expects to be back next week. However, when we asked Mike Holmgren about the decision to use Nate as a punt returner, his last line was, "Now it looks like we are going to have to find somebody else," insinuating that Burleson could be out next week. Holmgren said they will know more tomorrow, when both Burleson and Mo Morris get MRIs.

Frank Hughes does way too much speculating on the blog. It doesn't insinuate that he could be out, just that he won't be returning kicks next week. Which he shouldn't be doing int he first place as the only healthy experienced receiver.

:loco:

Was at the game today.

Left the field with a noticable limp. I was down for some time, and didnt look like he could put much weight on it when he was helped off the field. I guess it is good news that he was not carted off.

All I know is what I saw on the play. Burelson ran a short out route and upon cutting to the right fell to the ground in pain within a couple steps. No contact with any players. Based on other people getting hurt this way, I would be worried for the worst if it was his knee that got tweaked... as they said above, no one will know for certain till the MRI's.

As for Morris, he banged his knee right on a defenders helmet when being tackled straight on low. So I would speculate his would be more bone bruise type, pending again the MRI results.

:)
:lmao: How many guys actually get hurt returning kicks? I cant think of many. Plus he was only returning punts, something which he was top 3 in the league last year. Hardly a mistake putting him back there.

After seeing the way the other WRs played, I'd keep Nate in a bubble all week long so he was healthy on Sundays until Branch and Engram are back. Any time you're on the field and taking hits there's a chance of getting injured or aggravating an injury. You don't have to get hurt on a return for the hits you take to make a difference in your health, hits add up. When a team is thin at a position due to injury, risking the best guy you have left is a bit, well, risky. I'm not saying he's not good, but like the Wallace/WR exapmle they've set for years they should protect a valuable player from extra hits until that player is no longer the only one that can catch.

Listening to the Holgren show right now.

Said that his injury was worse than MOMOs. Reoccuring injury to something he had previously... no ligament damage...we will know more tomorrow.
