Nate Burleson (1 Viewer)

What are everyone's thoughts on Nate Burleson with the Seahawks acquisition of Deion Branch?

Obviously it's a bad thing...but does Burlseon become no more than a WR4 in FF or is he still a WR3? Any thoughts on if they'd trade him? Lots of teams could use an upgrade at #2 WR (NO, NE, BAL, KC).

Any SEA homers heard rumors?

I'm dropping Burleson, he's competing with DJax, Branch, and Engram for catches, I figure that I would never want to have to start him, there are WRs on the waiver wire that I would rather start!!

Bump. Come on west coasters. Wake up :D

This guy just went out on our WW. Does he have any value at all? Is he relegated to the bench in SEA?

Fourth string is my prediction. DJax and Branch will be the starters with Engram remaining the slot (No. 3) WR. Burleson probably rotates in for some plays here and there but no way did the Seahawks give all that money to Branch without believing he would be a starter. DJax is obviously a starter and Engram is a very good slot WR. That leaves Burleson as the odd man out in my opinion.

The obvious question... what about all that money they gave to Burleson?Mr. D

I wondered at the time whether the Burleson signing had more to do with the fact that Minn took Hutchinson than it did about acquiring the wr. It looks like a big mistake now.

They didn't give that much money to Burleson. Only $5.25M of his contract was guaranteed. Had Burleson shown more I doubt the Seahawks make this trade. I think the trade was made - at least in part - because Burleson hasn't been the WR the team thought it was getting. It may also be a reflection of their concern about DJax's long-term ability to stay healthy with his knee situation.

Very :goodposting:
i'm DEFINATELY in the minority here, but I see Branch (#1), Buerleson (#2), Engram (#3) by year end. D-Jax will be on his way out as the door smacks him squarly in in the backside. Just a hunch ;)

He'll be receiving option #4 for this...

Seahawks | May start using four-receiver sets

Thu, 14 Sep 2006 10:53:32 -0700

Associated Press reports Seattle Seahawks head coach Mike Holmgren is considering featuring some formations with four wide receivers in order to take advantage of having receivers Deion Branch, Darrell Jackson, Nate Burleson and Bobby Engram on roster. The team now has five wideouts with starting experience in the NFL. While Holmgren noted they have not done much with four receiver sets in the past, it now intrigues him because it would allow the team to have all four receivers on the field at the same time.

I dropped Burleson. Clear up space for someone with more upside. Plus Ol'Man Engram just keeps getting the looks.
I have not liked Burleson since he stopped playing opposite Moss. The guy is overrated. I liked Engram over him going into the season and I still stand by that.

The Seahawk organization sure taught the Vikings a lesson, didn't they?

Burleson's fantasy value is obviously way down, but you guys that assume his is going to get massively demoted because of the Branch acquisition are reaching. Darrell Jackson may very well be perfectly healthy, but I have heard he isn't popular with the organization. A mini-TO attitude is how I have heard it described. Plus, the organization can't count on Engram to continue to be as productive as he has been recently.

Even if Jackson sticks in Seattle, down the road I could see a combination of Jackson and Burleson on the outside and Branch in the slot.

Only 5.25 million? A drop in the bucket? 5.25m for a #4 WR is a waste IMO. No wonder so many people feel the Branch deal was OK.

Does your league give points for most splinters picked out of one's ####? :bye:

I don't think Djax is going anywhere. He's gonna be the #1 for the whole season, unless he's hurt.edit to add:I think when Branch is brought in, Engram will remain the #3 and Nate will be the #4.
