i was on probation for a DUI (i wasn't even driving when it happened, but asleep with the key in the ignition) and sober for a year.

got drunk after my girlfriend broke up with me.

made this video:

My advice to you is: when you are on probation for drinking and doing a drunken AMA and a guy comes into your chat and says "hey, this is your parole officer, are you violating the terms of your probation and drinking right now?" You should say "no."

I had a buddy who, after a DUI, was put on weekly antabuse, among other conditions.  He could not drink for the first couple of days after the dose, but by day four or so he would give it a try. The first drink would make him flush violently red in the face, but he would fight through it and drink.  While serving his probation he had a second DUI while still being treated with the antabuse.  The court was not amused.  He did 90 days jail with a bunch more suspended.  He lost his job.  He worked in a firm where one of the partners had political aspirations, later achieved.  The town was small enough that this partner did not like how it reflected on him.

Good guy.  Lost track of him.  After losing the job he was essentially unemployable in that town, the partner and firm being well known.  I heard he moved back to Nebraska and was selling cars.  I wonder if he ever got it under control.  I suppose I could use this internet thing to try to track him down.
