NBA 2012-13 Back to the Future League (1 Viewer)

Whoah Whoah. 14 rounds is not near enough for me...
One of the big things we learned in the baseball BTF leagues is that you can never have enough rounds. We went 45 rounds deep in bases (1080 picks) and there are teams scrambling now to come up with enough innings and at bats to start the season. WIS punishes fatigue so you can't overuse your players. If a team loses a couple of 30MPG guys for a month or two, they'll be hurting. Most of the post-round 14 guys will be useless but there will be some who get enough minutes to have some value.
:goodposting:
OK. I'm thinking we're going to run out of NBA players near the end since some teams aren't carrying 15 players. I guess there isn't really a problem with that though. I could always pick a stashed Euro for kicks.
We only have 24 teams
Yep. 18 rounds would be 432 players, and there are 450 spots on NBA rosters. From past experience with baseball, I'd be in favor of 18 and we should go at least 16.

11 - 24 - Arizona Ron

12 - 1 - Arizona Ron

12 - 2 - Jomar

12 - 3 - Goat Herders

12 - 4 - jag_player

12 - 5 - Juxtatarot

Nice picks. Almost took Lewis a moment ago but I'm overloaded at forward and needed a guard. He should do well standing in the corner shooting jump shots.

Alexey Shved - sg - Minnesota.

With only Brandon roy's torso between him and a starting job and with likely eligibility at pg with Rubio out, shved could be a surprise.

Dragic / Douglas

Joe Johnson / Lou Williams / shved

Barnes / jamison / aminu

Thompson / Patterson

Love / valuncieas

Lots of points and scoring. Decent low post defense. Good 3%. It's all coming together !

That was other pick when I took Donuts. He could end up being the 3rd guard there even if Roy is healthy.

Iman Shumpert, PG, New York
Another guy I considered when I took Douglas. Shumpert is probably a better player, but the injury was a concern.
Assuming he returns 100% in January, Shump is a good pick. At this stage of the draft, a reduced number of quality minutes is the best you can hope for. Of course, this could all go out the window if one of your starters misses a significant amount of time.

So, is it better to have a guy that averages 7ppg and 4rpg in 15 minutes or a guy that averages 8 / 6 in 30 minutes? Obviously the first guy is going to have better per minute averages but may not accumulate enough minutes to be more than a bench guy. Or, could you take the guy averaging 15 minutes, sit him for the first half of the season, and make him a 30mpg guy for the second half and expect 14/8 type of production? I am still unsure of how the sim handles this type of thing.

12.8 Corey Brewer, G/F

Averaging 18.3 PPG in the preseason. Between him and Chandler, I've locked up the Nuggets' coveted backup wing spots.

12.9 - Randy Foye, G, UTA

Need some shooting for my bench. Would love Foye to duplicate his 11 PPG and 39% 3 PT shooting from last season.

ETA: X PMed.

From Fatigue article on WIS FAQ
A player's condition is calculated by comparing total real life minutes to the total SimLeague minutes based on the current minutes per game projected to 82 games.
My read is that real life MPG doesn't matter, only total Minutes. If Shumpert plays 25MPG over 40 games, he's good for around 1000 sim minutes over the season. He'll eventually get fatigued if his sim target minutes are set over 12MPG but I'm not sure how quickly this will happen.

So he could conceivably be set to 0 minutes for the first 50 games and then become a 30mpg guy for the last 32 of the season?

Just realized the guy I was going to take is gone. Give me one more minute and then Ill be a skip if I cant figure it out

I got a guy I want. Anyone want to trade down?

I pick 12.20 and 13.05. Will give both those up for a pick in the next few (if the guy I want is still there) and your 14th.
