I didn't say Gortat isn't playing. I bumped him out to get up to Horford. Based on the start, I REALLY hope this is true.Keerock said:Going to be a low scoring night IMO
I made the same observation in November. My approach turned to gpps on short slates and cash games on big ones. It hasn't changed but when I want to get some action in the gpps on these bigger slates, I treat them like smaller slates using totals to narrow down my options. The strategy has been better than anything else as far as I fan tell.Megla said:Going to try and pick a two or three team stack each night just to see what happens. What I have noticed over the last few weeks is when there are few games on that night or when there is a turbo I always see to do better and even on heavy game nights my turbos always seems to score higher than the teams a drafted from the entire pool. For example last night I had 4 LUs from the pool and 2 from a turbo and both turbos outscored the pool, scored 288 and 274.
Nice to see someone having success in seeing the same trend(s). Same held true last night, had 3 LUs that I used the entire pool to create and placed in several $2 and $1 GPPs and a few $1 50/50s and a few $2 large doubleups, go skuned on all of them and none scored better that 250. Did one Latenight LU in 2 GPPs and a $5 LU and got shut out as well but that LU scored 307.2 so I'll just chalk those loses up to an anomaly as 300+ usually cashes.Chaos Commish said:I made the same observation in November. Tonight is odd. Typically there's three or four obviously high totals. Tonight there are none that really jump out but 8 of the 13 over 200. Competitive games generally offer player production that is both higher and more predictable. Home dogs are generally more competitive than road dogs. Tonight in the totals greater than 200, Orlando and Toronto are the only home dogs. Golden State, San Antonio and OKC are in games with 200+ totals but they are favored to win in noncompetitive games. That leaves Den@Min, Por@LAC and LAL@Mia as the remaining high total games that look to be somewhat competitive. So I've narrowed down 13 games to 5 and I will use them for a very high percentage of players. In some cases 100% stacks from less than all 5. In other cases guys like Hayward, Gay, Boogie, Mo, Shved, etc just fit the budget and complete a LU.
Anyway, I agree with your observations and give a thumbs up to turbo and late night contests too. I'm just burdened with $600 worth of use it or lose it $25 entries on this monster slate. Fwiw, I spent $209 in the satellites over the past week to win the 24 tickets, so even if I tank I should come pretty close to even. On bad nights I seem to lose a little more than half my multi-entry gpp fees, so... we'll see!
I'm focused on the big slate and haven't looked at your options in the turbo but, for me tonight, Westbrook is a fade. He broke his face. He's going to play on pain killers. The medical procedure he had is pretty painful for about a week and liquid diets are common. So while he's a go, the game is a likely blowout, and he will probably be used cautiously. Harden would be my must play. The only player on your two lists I really don't like is Hickson. His minutes have been awful and the new coach is riding Faried (i think, it's only been one game). I think the turbo 0/Us are tight enough that they can be ignored, but I would try to fit in Min/Den players. Be prepared to plug Anthony Davis in at the last minute if he goes.I didn't look at the O/U for the night yet, wanted to do my turbo LU without the clutter so your thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

Which Williams?Stuckey or Williams?

Having the same dilemma between Lou Williams and Stuckey. Lowry is out which means Williams will get 30 min and he did burn the Cavs earlier this year, but Stuckey seems less likely to dud. Leaning towards Lou now...Stuckey or Williams?

Yea Obama killed my lineups as well.Complete loss for me last night. Best lineup was my double up lineup. Scored 281.4. With Obama giving me 9.
I've got 24 tickets to the mega slam. Been looking/working at it since 5am. I have two rosters so far. First one is Paul Jordan as will be most of them. Second one uses Aldridge Gay Hayward Whiteside. I like it.

Bah. 6 of 24 LUs cashed for $370. Nothing sniffed big money. Best LU was 350+ for $120. I came out up $160 on the effort. I'll do it again for the next mega and play the satellites harder for more tickets. Apologies to anyone who listened to me re: Westbrook, Oof. That thinking probably cost me $500. Looking through the highest scores is frustrating. Many of them include 6-8 players from the high total games I was talking about. I had high exposure to the right players with. the. exception. of. Russell, and without a really solid combination. 50 entries and I would have probably stumbled onto a top 100 team. But without Westbrook that would have been the best I could have done.I've got 24 tickets to the mega slam. Been looking/working at it since 5am. I have two rosters so far. Wow. 5 of my six cashers swapped Harden/Lebron or Aldridge for Brow in the last hour. If not for that, I'd have wasted my time. My lowest score was 232. PPat and Len combined for 5.2 points... lol.Keerock said:Crap... don't feel comfortable with any of my lineups![]()

ETA: And I didn't have Westbrook or Davis in any of my lineups...
You weren't wrongWestbrook was not in top 15 in overall value yesterday and he was not in the top 5 of PGs. Go figure.
If he said points per dollar, I'd like to see that list of 15. But since he said overall value, I just disagree strongly. Without Westbrook or Davis (7.2 and 7.4 Xs big prices), you weren't winning anything big in gpps. That makes them, by far, the top two in overall value yesterday. You could roster 9 $4000 players who hit 7.5 times price and fail to cash. That doesn't make them better in overall value. 9 $6000 players at 6 times price is far more valuable. Westy and Brow's low ownership and big prices made them even more valuable than had Lebron and Paul (heavily owned) had the huge nights. You weren't wrongWestbrook was not in top 15 in overall value yesterday and he was not in the top 5 of PGs. Go figure.
Westbrook – back with no Durant means 50+ usually.
I don't play CCBux... but I cashed in all 3 entries of the $1 Swat yesterday without Westy or Brow. $3, $2.50, $3. I'm rich!!If he said points per dollar, I'd like to see that list of 15. I am taking tonight off and I don't see how you can fade him until Durant comes back. Will he burn you once or twice? Maybe. The other games though he is going to carry your team and good luck guessing which game to fade him.Going to play 3 lineups tonight. 1 Dal/Por heavy, 1 Chi/OKC heavy and 1 balanced. Of course will have westbrook in all 3 (don't have the fortitude to fade him 2 nights in a row).
