I'd be very surprised if he ever sniffed a head coaching job again.
I partially agree with you. Kobe's not primarily to blame IMO. From what I hear he's dropped off considerably on the defensive end, but he's having maybe his best season ever on the offensive end. He's a far more efficient scorer and the rest of his game is the same as it's always been. Credit where credit is due.One thing you can fault him for, though, is crunch time. Check the standings- the Lakers' +2.1 point differential per game puts them is 9th best in the NBA, similar to teams that are between 5 and 10 games over .500. Part of the reason their record doesn't match their scoring differential is probably luck, but I bet some of it is end of game issues. They're losing far more close games than they win, and I bet it's because NBA teams have figured out Kobe's hero ball tendencies and adjusted accordingly. It takes someone really special to blame the guy who's 6th in the league in PER for the Laker troubles, instead of the other 3 HOF's whose PERs have fallen off of a cliff. Does your sister live in Colorado Cliff?Or it can be seen as him completely failing as the leader of the most talented team in the league. Pretty embarrassing to miss the playoffs with a team boasting 4 HOF'ers.Wonder how Kobe fans will spin this season. No Smush Parker to lay all the blame on.If Kobe retires tomorrow or never wins another game, he will still be one of the all time greats. He'll still be a 5 time champion. What you don't seem to get is that, as disappointing as this season has been so far, it's little more than a coda to those of us who love Kobe. He's already achieved the pinnacle of his sport- several times now. The argument about his greatness ended a long time ago.
You might be right but he's a good coach. He just needs to be paired with an organization that is committed to smart, high character, hard working players.I'd be very surprised if he ever sniffed a head coaching job again.Scott Skiles and Bucks to part ways immediatelyETA Link
by most accounts, his act wears thin after a while with his players. he's always going to be looking for another gig after 3-4 years. You might be right but he's a good coach. Pretty standard for the NBA. How many coaches in the league have over 4 years with their current team? Rivers, Pop, Carlisle, Karl, Skiles, Spoelstra... probably one or two more that I'm missing?by most accounts, his act wears thin after a while with his players. he's always going to be looking for another gig after 3-4 years. You might be right but he's a good coach. He put up big point and rebound totals here too. Check the last few months of his 2010-2011 campaign. Talent was never the issue. Production when he was focused and in shape was never the issue. Getting him in shape and focused was the issue. It's been a month. Give it time. He'll remind you of who he is.22 and 15 for Blatche last night. Why does everyone go to Washington and forget how to play...only to magically remember once they leave?

I think some observers think it's the wrong mix of players and coach. Every coach could use a team filled with "Smart, high character, hard working players". That's a recipe for success for almost any team really. Skiles isn't like Avery Johnson in that players are annoyed by him because he's breathing. Skiles is a coach that can stop the bleeding within a franchise but little else. A young Doug Collins maybe.Pretty standard for the NBA. 119-102 sounds about right.Lakers-Rockets should be fun tonight. The total is 221![]()
Was wondering what TobiasFunke's post from earlier was all about, this would appear to be it. Lol at trouble "following" some people. Blatche is just an unlucky guy I guess.Nets player questioned in sexual assault. My linkNaturally it was Blatche and he was there when it happened but not involved as a woman has consensual intercourse with one man but not the other. Trouble really does follow some people.
"Unlucky" is not a word I would use to describe someone who got paid $23 million to not play basketball."Ungrateful," maybe. Was wondering what TobiasFunke's post from earlier was all about, this would appear to be it. I didn't intend for that to be taken seriously. At least the Wizards got another good win last night. Along with Memphis I think they're the only team to beat the Thunder and the Heat, so uhh, they've got that going for them."Unlucky" is not a word I would use to describe someone who got paid $23 million to not play basketball."Ungrateful," maybe. Was wondering what TobiasFunke's post from earlier was all about, this would appear to be it. I knew you were joking, I just like to take advantage of every opportunity I get to trash Blatche.Seriously, all the guy would have to do is make some sort of apologetic statement, admit fault/express regret, and most of the Wiz fans would let it go. But instead he trolls the team and their fans at every opportunity. Such a tool. Also, yes, big win. If we can beat the Heat and the Thunder, I think we can compete for the title.I didn't intend for that to be taken seriously. At least the Wizards got another good win last night. Robert sacre starting for the lakers at center.
It's close in large part because of Delfino. What a player he is!Rockets looking every bit the youngest team in the league. Thankfully it's close.
Sacre +11 through 3, thoroughly outplaying Asik.Robert sacre starting for the lakers at center.

No trainers went with him, so I doubt it's anything wrong. But the Lakers are way behind now. Down by 11.Nash leaving the court.
No post play. Rockets rebounding well and draining 3'sGeez, I stepped in to the kitchen and the Lakers were up 1. Step back into the livign room and they're down double digits. WTF??
That would be Clyde DrexlerNot sure who is doing te game with Bullard and worrell but he is great. Kind of like Barkley.

Sounds like he's a go for the next Wiz game Saturday vs. ATL.Sweet. He'll finally be usable for me in Pick's league.John Wall practiced today. Not sure when he returns but beat writers/bloggers seem to be suggesting it might not be too long, like possibly in a week or two.![]()
