Can someone explain to me how Lebron can be "jealous" of Durant taking so many more shots than him...when I just looked at the numbers and found for their careers, Lebron takes more shots per game and per minute played.

Even if you trim it down to just the time Lebron has played in Miami...the difference only changes slightly in Durant's favor...KD is averaging less than 1 shot more per game.

What is the King of Flop talking about here?

This year?

That said, LeBron probably should shoot more.

Ah...this year...ok.

Yea Durant is chucking up 3 more shots per game than Lebron.

That's definitely worthy of Lebron's jealousy.

Kevin durant may eventually end up as a top 5 scorer all time yet never win an MVP or a ring.
He will win an MVP for sure. He should run out of OKC as soon as possible after that ####ty owner/GM traded Harden.
Tend to agree on leaving. He's a free agent in three years, right? That would be his age 28 season?
Could be interesting with '17 being another stacked draft class.

I'm pretty sure David West does NOT like Blake Griffin. Mixing it up again at the end of the half.

ETA: West ejected with the Flagrant 2

I live in L.A. and while I am not a Clipper fan, I hate the Lakers and enjoy watching the Clippers. With that said, so there are no homer glasses here, what us it about Blake Griffin that makes people so mad? I don't see him as Ana's guy, talking crap, calling guys out. I don't see him as a dirty player - at least not any more than other players.

I don't see enough of him to call it. Good question.

A lot of fake-tough-guy in Blake. Stares people down after dunks, then flops on defense. Starts to mix it up, agitate, then back down.

Paul George is going to be a top 10 player by next year. The guy can do everything. And if I'm the Pacers, I say so long to Granger and throw a bunch more money at West. George, West and Hibbert make a really nice nucleus for the next 3 years or so.
Not that I'm arguing just to argue, but top10 is a bit of a stretch. JamesDurant WestbrookHardenMeloHowardKobePaulBlakeIrving Who are you bumping from that list for Paul George ?
Melo, Kobe & Griffin can all be crossed off for George IMO within the next year or two. Age and lack of defense are big factors. This is based on only seeing him play on national TV from Seattle, which is limited with the Pacers, but he looks phenomenal. He's not as flashy as those three, but in the flow of the game he seems to make a huge impact.
:fishing:
I know you are a big fan of high volume scoring and lack of defense, so this makes sense.
High volume with good efficiency is much better than good volume with moderate efficiency. Kobe is scoring 27.4 ppg with a .567 TS%, Melo is scoring 28.7 ppg with a .568 TS%, George is scoring 17.8 ppg with a .536 TS%. Being that scoring is the most important skill in basketball by a large margin, I would say that George is still way behind those two high volume scoring guys. George is much more Luol Deng than he is Carmelo/Kobe/anybody that could be considered in the top 10.You guys are ridiculous.ETA:  Cliff, I made the Deng comparison before reading your post.
Not saying he's there yet, but his all around game is already better than Kobe (at this stage)/Melo IMO and his scoring is improving rapidly.
:lmao:
Seems like a good time to check in on this conversation.

He's a floppy little #####.

Blake is tied with, get this, Demarcus Cousins for the league lead in technical fouls. You don't get on that list without talking crap and whining a lot.

BUT WHO ARE YOU GOING TO BUMP!?

:lmao:

George is the third best player in the league.
No he isn't.
Chris Paul in your opinion? Or you have him higher?
Paul, Love and Cousins for sure. Then good arguments could be made for Davis, Aldridge, Curry and maybe even Horford or Dirk.

He's definitely the 3rd best wing.
Aside from Paul, George I'd the only one on that list that plays both ends of the floor at an elite level...for sure in the top 5.

What is the advanced stats story on Cousins? I see the big counting stats.

He strikes me as an overrated guy, but we rarely see him on TV up here.

I'd say some of his "elite" defence is a little inflated because he plays on an elite defensive team. Don't get me wrong, I do think he is a very good defender, but playing for Indy makes everyone look like they belong on first team all-D.

Does George's D make up for his lack of elite rebounding when comparing him to Love or Cousins?

So let me get this straight Love averages 4 rebounds, and 1 assist more than Melo but he is definitely in the conversation for 3rd best but Melo doesn't even crack top 10?

A 44% difference in their rebound rates is kind of a big deal. Not to mention Love is the better the scorer as well.

Not sure about the advanced stats, but he's a top 5ish offensive player in the league playing with much improved efficiency this year. He's still not a shot blocker and at the center position, that's a major, major negative.

Cousins currently 5th overall this year in PER.Cliff hating on George is just more evidence of his anti-scoring bias. Anyone who doesn't play Hoosiers style basketball is automatically downgraded in Cliff's rankings.

I'd put George in contention for the 4th best player in the league with several others (Melo, Dirk, and Wade)

If I don't think a player is 3rd best in the league I'm hating on him? Guess I'm hating on everyone in the league outside of LeBron, Durant and Paul.

The grantland discussion and analysis about love is interesting with regard to his rebounding being so good because he willingly avoids defense to get in rebound position. There is a good argument to be made that keeping the other team from another chance at shooting is worth the trade off.

But I greatly disagree with the idea that George's defense is enhanced because of the team he is on. That's kind of the point and is akin to dying Scottie was a great defender because he only had to guard the opponents second best player, etc. It's a team game and no player can defend the court by themselves.

Cousins is very very good and still has room to improve, but there is not a gm in the league that would take him over Paul George.

Love gets the benefit of playing with Rubio while Melo gets Felton, Udrih, and Prigioni (one is slightly better) and only leads Melo by .021% FG pct while Melo averages a point more a game. Furthermore Melo gets all kind of flak saying he cant lead his team to a championship and yet you are calling Love and Cousins the 3rd best player in the league and they haven't even led their team to a playoff berth. I realize the West is tougher conference but Melo led the Nuggets to the playoffs EVERY year he was there.
