I think they trade the #1 overall pick to Boston for #8 and #17.

Maybe so. And the way he played in 2013-14 when healthy, he's worth that.They may even get a discount due to durability concerns. And if they really wanted to, they could deal Dragic (who played like a Top 5 PG this past regular season....you put his #s against any PG & can verify that) while his value will never be higher with a cheap contract.The Suns have more flexibility (and assets) than anyone in the league. Keep in mind they also own the Lakers Top 5 protected 2015 pick (whom I'm sure they're praising Kobe for signing that fat deal which makes it more likely they're not Top 5 bad but also with as much as he counts against the cap & his declining play, they won't be elite either)

I don't think they end up with Lebron (Miami), but I think they are the big sleeper here that no one has talked about.

Lebron did a good job opting out and putting the ball in Wade's court. Brilliant.

Payne may be a rotation guy but isn't athletic enough to be a star. Patrick Patterson.Harris is a solid guy that I think is probably being overlooked a little (an opinion growing in popularity). He does a lot of things pretty well and if he develops a reliable 3 then he could be one of the better players in the draft.

I agree its probably Lin. The dark horse could be David Lee, who is rumored to be the odd man out with the system Kerr intends to run.

I like Hendo, but he doesn't have much trade value. He's a SG that's a poor 3-pt shooter and doesn't really create anything. He tries on defense, and can get on a roll with his mid-range jumper from time to time. He's the kind of guy you love as a rotation guy for a couple mill/year, but a couple more years at $6 mill. make him essentially worthless in a trade.

Fournier's far more valuable.

In the draft, most teams would be really excited to take 6'6" SG with some athleticism that they absolutely knew he was capable of hitting 38% of his 3's in the NBA.

Valuing a 21 YO Fournier like a mid-teens pick doesn't seem like a stretch.

If they couldn't use Afflalo to move up to the top of draft (and I don't see why Clev or Phil would want to add him & salary ....right now), I like what they did. They save the money, have a multitude of suitable guys that can play the 3 there on current roster and/or draft and/or free agency (can add to it). And get a cheap young with potential in Fournier. Worked quite well with Tobias.

Cap Space right now > adding role player for most NBA teams.

Timing is everything. Everyone seems to think someone like the Bulls can just pony up ........they don't have the space. They've yet to amensty Boozer.

Good. Cle srewed this up, and i'm hoping sixers aren't wasting their time anymore. I guess they have to draft Wiggins considering Embiid is hurt, Parker has done everything to express how he doesn't want to play there, and Exum doesn't even want to meet with them. I am trying to think of another franchise that this happens to. you see it every once in awhile with the NFL, but this is sad.

For the life of me, i don't know why CLE wouldn't take 3, 10, and 32 and draft Embid there. maybe the medicals are that bad (i heard today one of the mystery ailments they also found is he has a sinus infection). that's the only thing that makes sense to me from Cleveland's perspective

How have they screwed up? If it really comes down to Wiggins and Parker, why would you risk trading down to 3 and not getting either one?

 
I wouldn't deal 1 for 3,10,32 either if you believe you're getting a superstar level talent at 1 and/or believe it's a 2 superstar draft (which I strongly believe it's the majority opinion with Wiggins/Parker with Embiids medical concerns). Superstars put butts in the seats and they win championships.

Cap space or not, I think missing on potential superstars Wiggins/Parker is a huge blow to Philly. (No I don't expect a Philly fan to admit it). Huge question marks beyond (Exum/Embiid). This looked like a awesome situation a month ago for Philly (getting Wiggins or Parker who fill a glaring need on the roster) & now looking at the drafts 2 biggest question marks (and who don't necessarily fill great needs with MCW & Noel with similar skill sets). They have done a great job with the cap -- I just believe you're going to have a much easier sell to free agents with Parker/Wiggins.

Unless Kevin Love's coming your way, I keep the #1 pick.

Good. Cle srewed this up, and i'm hoping sixers aren't wasting their time anymore. I guess they have to draft Wiggins considering Embiid is hurt, Parker has done everything to express how he doesn't want to play there, and Exum doesn't even want to meet with them. I am trying to think of another franchise that this happens to. you see it every once in awhile with the NFL, but this is sad.

For the life of me, i don't know why CLE wouldn't take 3, 10, and 32 and draft Embid there. maybe the medicals are that bad (i heard today one of the mystery ailments they also found is he has a sinus infection). that's the only thing that makes sense to me from Cleveland's perspective

i'm just salty sixers may not get Wiggins considering they have been talking about it for a year. For me, nothing really shows Wiggins will be that much better then Embid or Parker career wise. All talk was Cle loved Embid, so if you think he might be healthy at some point, why not get max value.

unless they think Wiggins really will be a superstar, I just don't know if they maximized what they could have done

ETA: also seems like Wiggins is a good kid. I think most would argue that it is much better for Wiggins to go to the Sixers then Cle. Just hard to see the kid reach his full potential going to Cle.

Seems like he's the best bet of anyone in this draft to be a superstar. If I had #1 I'm taking him and not having a second thought. Screwing up for them would be ending up with another Bennett.

picks don't help the Cavs and neither does a lesser pick and a mediocre vet caliber player they can just sign in free agency. This team is too young already. More picks doesn't make any sense. Trade only made sense if they were getting a caliber player they could not get in free agency and they loved Embiid that much relative to the other two.

I think there are 7 healthy prospects who are better than an injured Embiid. Picking #8 and #9 are the Kings and Hornets. Neither team needs more projects. #10 sounds about right.

Fournier has been underutilized with the Nuggets. We may look back on this three or four years from now and think that Orlando raped the Nuggets.

The Nuggets seem very intent on chasing the 8 seed this season. Weeeeeee!
