*NBA THREAD* Abe will be missed (1 Viewer)

I just hope Lebron is doing this all on purpose to troll Cleveland fans again.
For as much as you can feel bad for LeBron, I kinda do. Granted his silence has probably stoked some of the flames but most of this circus isn't really his fault. Heck, by him seriously considering Cleveland as it appears now, it might make him worse than if he just reupped with Miami right away.
No matter what happens he will painted as a villain again...some how some way. It will be insane for a few days after he extends here. Then reality sets in that The Heat will keep contending for a few more years. In Riley We Trust!
I won't paint him as a villain, just surprised he hasn't learned from the decision fiasco.
I don't see any way he comes out of this looking like a villain. Mia, Cle, whatever. There would have to be something crazy go down like a verbal in the press decision and then change his mind to another team...with a circus in between. Ain't happening this time with Paul as his agent.

I'm still waiting for a logical reason why he'd wait this long to announce he's returning if its so certain he's returning. Not sure if there's a Heat superfan on this board, but if there is, could you please answer that?
Selling the drama baby...selling the drama.

Strong feeling he's going back to Cleveland here. Obviously I know nothing, but it's hard to believe it wouldn't be announced already if they're all staying in Miami. Guess we'll find out.

Not sure what he's waiting for after the Heat signed 40 year old Danny Granger and Josh McMuffin. That's got championship written all over it.

Maybe James is waiting to see if Bosh leaves. Miami might be able to be more competitive if Bosh left if they could do something like sign Ariza/Stephenson and Gasol for the same money Bosh would take up.

If you love something, let it go. If it comes back to you, its yours forever. If it doesn't, then it was never meant to be?

Doesn't make a lot of sense. Why would he care about selling the drama? If anything, he just comes off as looking like more of a doosh by not squashing all this speculation and giving cleveland hope by just announcing his certain intentions immediately. And to top it off, he's going to have a meeting with Riley just to tell him he's staying. Why would he keep Riley in the dark about this as well? Your reasoning stinks.

i would lost a lot of respect for labron if he went back to cleveland one because cleveland is a cesspool but two because he would be going back to dan snyder who called him everything he could on the way out and acted like he somehow owned labron if he goes back to that man after the way snyder acted then i would lose some respect for him plane and simple take that to the bank brohans

That's mean, Mo.I don't think that was his purpose last time.
lol, i agree with you. It is just an absolute frenzy and the lack of professionalism in anybody reporting anything is comical. At this point people are reporting about what lebron eats when he is out to dinner with Wade in Las Vegas. I just can't believe these people get paid good money

If he resigns with Miami, it shows he hasn't really matured and learned from his mistakes from "The Decision". He could have avoided all this unneccessary drama by either telling Cleveland no thanks when they showed interest (and have it leaked he said no thanks), or quickly stating he is going back to Miami.
Or maybe a week is a sensible amount of time to consider your options when every team in the league is willing to make room to give you the max?

But its a 99% certainty that he signs with miami. Don't you know how certain that is. That's pretty darn certain. You don't need a week when something is that certain.

It was decided already. Riley already knows. Your telling me he is going to see Riley and tell him he is not coming back. That will take a set of balls indeed.

They are going to discuss contract and this all gets done. I dont need any reasoning. Reasoning on why he comes back?

I don't know...4 freaking straight Finals says he does not walk away from this.

Good enough for ya or your going to tell me they can't contend anymore? Give me a freaking break already. All of a sudden they stink? Sheesh.

Bosh is meh, Wade is meh everyone is meh. So everything around Lebron in Miami will not be good enough. Ok.

The crazier it gets the more confidence I am getting in Lebron extending in Miami. 90% sure reeks of such BS I can smell it from my keyboard.

Just went from 99% to 99.5% sure he extends right here in South Florida.
"Someone being 90% sure of something is ridiculous"

"I'm 99.99999999% sure of something"

How you think he's going to tell him he's not going to come back; text message? Face to face is how men deliver bad news. They just got blown out. The team is in decline. He's tired of carry the jocks of this cast of misfits. This team is all about the past. A team like Cleveland is built for the future.

Last time Paul, who wasn't even his agent, delivered the news to the Cavs/Gilbert right before the espn show. One reason why Lebron was lambasted.

Lebron has done nothing. Agents, media are pulling the wool over Cleveland's eyes.

It's cruel.
Cleveland is a better situation than Miami. Why are you so sure he'll go back to Miami? Because Miami is a family?
It is?
Currently Miami has a completely awful roster (since Lebron, Wade and Bosh aren't on the roster). Cleveland has Kyrie Irving, Andrew Wiggins, the number one pick of 2013,(who admittedly stunk up the joint in his rookie season but would have zero pressure with Lebron there), and a possible top 10 pick next year if Lebron leaves Miami.

What is going to change this dynamic and cause Miami to be a better situation than Cleveland?

Yeah, Lebron to CLE makes sense from a talent/roster standpoint, but I have no idea how he'd trust that terrible organization.

I don't even mean the letter because I wouldn't care about that.

What do you want to debate? Next year? The next 6 years? The latter is not even a question. Even Miami reporters coming on Cleve radio acknowledge that.

What's up with the "LaFamilia" at the end of Irving's and Tristan's twitter bios? Has it always been there? That's a Lebron thingy no?

McRoberts, duh.

I find it fascinating that people think Cleveland's young guys are so much better than Miami Role players.

Irving isn't a superstar, Wiggins still needs to prove himself at the NBA level. Waiters has potential, but if they sign LeBron, he's got to be the first out the door.

Why would a backup shooting guard who can handle the ball be the first out the door?

So you mention Cleveland's young guys vs Miami role players...then mention Irving, Wiggins and Waiters? I'm confused because that's a strange comparison. Are you saying Bosh and Wade are the Miami role players?

Earlier I posted that if I were top tier like LeBron, i'd want to be a FA in 2017 when I believe the big money from the new TV deal will start to flow. I think this current deal with LeBron will be for another 3 years, max. So how about for 3 years.

Also include the organization in your analysis, include James's history with both, please. tia.

If those guys really are family and Bron isn't completely selfish, he may just want Bosh to go get paid, rather than leave millions on the table to stay in Miami just so Bron can get a max contract.

I think he'll be the odd man out. A 22 year old SG who can score is in high demand. Come contract time, someone's going to offer way more than he's worth. Wiggins is already going to eat into his playing time this season. Adding LeBron would be even more so.

Small ball with Irving, waiters, wiggins, Lebron and a corpse at center would be fun.

I think Bosh and Wade are hands down better than Irving and Waiters.

Assuming Miami resigns their role players from last season, I think that group is better than Thompson, Varejao, Jack, Zellers and Bennett.

Wiggins is the major wildcard.

I could see this group averaging 100 points a game, since only LeBron plays D. Lets Mike D'antioni on the phone.

One of Wiggins biggest selling points is his D.
