And yes - he pretty much quit on his team in these finals. He couldn't wait to get out the door. It wasn't quite as bad as when he quit against the Mavericks, that had to be one of the worst finals performances ever for a guy that's a top 10 talent of all time. This year wasn't that bad, but it was pretty bad. Lebron lacks some heart, which will keep him from ever being as good as Jordan. I said this during the playoffs and half of you guys threw tantrums. But hey, you guys had some fun.
In the finals he averaged 28 ppg and shot over 57%..... while all of his teammates sucked. I know we hold him to higher standard than every other basketball player on the planet, but come on.
Like I said, it wasn't nearly as bad as that Mavericks junk. Or some of his others. But he didn't have a good series as a whole. Whenever he decided to take over, he was on fire. Couldn't be stopped, best in the business, no doubt about it. And then he'd disappear and take no shots for like 2 quarters, the Heat get buried, and he picks up some garbage time points to close out the game with a respectable stat line. It really wasn't all that pretty considering the impact he should have had on the series. They probably still lose. But there's not much shame in having an all time great individual performance and losing. Disappearing for 2 quarters here, another half there, etc and losing is another story.
And the body language throughout. You knew he was done with this team when he sat out the final minutes in the deciding game. I don't care how low a percentage chance it was to win at that point, you don't tap out of a series deciding finals game.
