We are witnessing something never seen before in the history of the meet, a stud sprinter from Japan at Florida named Hakim Sani Brown. He has already won the speedy SEC in a sub10.00 and wil be a major challenge to Texas Techs Divine Odurudu a Nigeria.  Also in the hunt Clavon Gillespie the first Oregon Duck to break that 10.00 barrier.

The Japanese National record is a 9.98, if the conditions are good and we get a good wind that could go Friday.

Tonight at 5pm the women will take the track to see who makes their finals on Saturday.  This really is how it should be done,  really not fair watching men blaze a 9.9 then here come the women at 11.00.

Never seen a Japanese sprinter with this size before and he is only a soph.

I don't know much about track and field but its supposed to be about a million degrees here in Austin tomorrow.

I reckon that's going to affect some events. Especially longer races.

Yep, that 9.86 the second fastest 100m ever ran by a college guy.

That 9.93 an improvement on his that Oregon school record.  And he ran a new Oregon school record in the 200m, running a 19.9something.  Canada's Harry Jerome the greatest Oregon sprinter a multi time WR holder and an Olympic medalist but Gillespie is the fastest.

Down goes that Japanese National record, Brown did it like I thought he would and he is only a soph.

We saw the fastest 4x1 ever ran by a colege team today, the first college team to break a 38.00. but.....NCAA teams have held the WR before., just long ago.  Footballer O,J.Simpson on that USC team.  Another football Mel Renfro on an Oregon WR team.

And....we saw the fastest 110hh ever ran by an NCAAer, and the first sub 13.00, talking Florida's Grant Holloway, who also ran great legs on the winning 4x1 team and split a great 43.7 to come in second in the 4x4.  He was involved in 28 points.

The big event tomorrow with the ladies will be that 4X1, with LSU vs USC.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Yesterday in Rome (pro track) Michael Norman ran a scorching 19.70 200m to beat Noah Lyles  19.72 who was the top 200m cat in the world. Norman the best 400m. And.....Divine Oduduru who won the NCAA ran a 19.73, he will rep Nigeria.
We saw a slew of fantastic times in the speed events and expect the ladies to do the same tommorrow.  I don't really follow anything over a mile so....?
Getting back to that Rome 200m.
Noah Lyles went straight from HS to the pro ranks he was all that.  And has been amazing at 200m, has ran a 19.6 a few times, and was the top ranked 200m cat in the world for 2018.
Michael Norman has ran some of the fastest 400m ever ran and an incredible 43.0 4x4 spilt. And, is also a solid 200m man.
The stage was set.
Oduduru's 19.73 200 meter was also the 2nd fastest college 200m ever behind Walter Dix
Yep, and a new Nigerian National record.
Have we ever seen a faster 100/200 on the same day?
Texas Tech not known for sprinters, before Oduduru they'd never had a stud sprinter in school history.
Just think.
New NCAA record in the 4x1 and 110hh
New 200m Nigerian record
New 100m Japanese record
New Texas Tech 100/200 records
New Oregon 100/200 records
New Florida 110hh/4x1 records
Check out that lady sprinter from LSU tomorrow, talk about a little cutie.
