NE Pats RB situation (1 Viewer)

Morris, Jordan and Faulk - A three headed monster?

Is this truly a RBBC or has the fact that the Pats have been way ahead the past few games caused them to spread the touches around? In a close game, does Coach B keep it in the hands of one back? Ironically, Jordan has been getting the goalline carries - a role that Morris seemed to have earlier in the season. Will that continue?

I'd be interested to hear what any NE homers have to say!

Naw the Patriot Amalgam is actually very effective. No reason for Belichick to favor one back. Its actually pretty interesting to look at the run-pass split in the Cardinals game. 42 rushes to 38 passes in a snow globe. They are definitely committed to the pass right now.

I agree that the Pats have committed to the pass. When they do run, the distribution may be a product of the "closeness" of the game. In weeks 13 and 14, Morris got the majority of the carries -- and both games were either close ar the Pats were behind. If Buffalo does not get down early, do the Pats go back to a feature back approach?

i fell that Jordan is the most talented RB that they have on the roster. (IMHO)

yes Morris does a nice job, & Faulk is a great 3rd down back - but Jordan has the best combo of size, speed, & hands on the team (and blocks decent enough - and runs hard at the goal line).

i think the past several weeks he has got the carries inside the 5. (i know the 1 TD Morris scored against Oakland was from 23 or so yards out .... & in the same game Jordan scored on a 49 yard run).

i remember before the season got under way reading some place just after the Pats signed him that coach Bill has always admired Jordan's game. ...... Jordan has just never been healthy this year (or most) .... but when healthy he is the best RB they have.

..... next year he (Jordan) could have the year everyone thought Maroney should of had this year in NE.

as of right now i am starting him as my RB2 week 17 (total points league) over Ward, Bradshaw, & MoMo.

(unless i get info saying Ward will play more than 52 yards worth of action -- Jordan can get more points than that for me with a 1 yard TD run).

count me as a Jordan fan :goodposting:

Jordan is only signed through this year, so who knows where he will be playing in 09. Morris and Maroney are signed through 2010. Faulk is signed through 09.

I looked back a few games to see if I could confirm that Jordan is the short yardage/goal line guy as I could pick him up for Week 17.I found that Morris got carries in these situations more than Jordan, so I think it varies week to week.I didn't pick up Jordan.Best of luck, hopefully you made the right call instead of me.
