If Deion Branch is a jet, does that leave Reche Caldwell and Chad Jackson???

I cannot believe this isn't as apparent as it should be.

I friggin hate B. Bill Belichick's communication tactics :wall:

I doubt Jackson will start right from the start. He's missed too much time.

Caldwell and Brown is my guess.

And Caldwell has looked bad.
Which is why I believe, if the Pats DO deal Branch, they will get a WR in return - they have to.
interesting. who do you think they are considering?
Hard to say - I'm not even sure if they're really negotiating and if they are if it's with the Seahawks or the Jets. I could see it being McCairens or Engram. DJax is too much an injury concern, Burleson just signed a new deal and Coles is simply too old. Just MHO though.

Branch for Coles and a 2nd rounder?
i guess they've traded Coles before.

btw, i really wish i had drafted Watson this year.

he could end up with HUGE numbers.

eta: Graham could end up having some value too, esp. in TD heavy leagues.

In a heartbeat!

I am glad I waited and did. He was like the 14th TE picked. Unbelievable value.

Branch<Coles...?

Give Branch and picks for Coles?

Trying to factor how Coles would do with a real QB/Offense...

i'd think it would be Branch for McCareins and a 2nd rounder... He's already in Mangini's doghouse and rumored to be on the trading block. it makes sense

There is no way Branch goes for Coles AND a pick. In fact, getting rid of Coles for Branch doesn't improve the Jets any, so I can't see Coles going anywhere.

Caldwell can't hold onto the ball. I just don't see how NE would feel comfortable relying on someone who couldn't even cut it as a 2nd stringer with the Chargers. It's not like their WR core is deep.

Alright, as a Brady owner they better either sign Branch or get a friggin WR....The idea of the Pats without Branch or at least a WR in a trade is really starting to scare me.

I would guess that it's Brown (sure thing) and a lot of TE sets until Jackson becomes comfortable enough to be on the field more. They will need somebody capable of the big play and to stretch the field IMO. SO I think Jackson is pushed to get out there.

Dude, you realize the BB is still the coach and not you right? I mean no offense, but if you think Jackson and Brown should be the 2 starters, but the official depth chart says Childress and Caldwell, I'm guessing Childress and Caldwell will be the 2 starters. Believe me, if this worked the Bear's QB situation would be quite different. ;)

I checked the patriots web site and their depth chart shows Branch and Caldwell starting. Where would the "official" depth chart be?

This is what I found of Fanball

THE NEWS

Bam Childress, thrust into the starting lineup because of the absences of Deion Branch and Chad Jackson, led the Patriots with six catches for 116 yards in their preseason finale on Thursday.

Our View

Childress started opposite someone named John Stone on Thursday, which gives you an indication of just how dire the Patriots' situation is out wide. If the season were to start tomorrow (depending on the outcome of the Deion Branch situation), Childress would be starting opposite Reche Caldwell. While one can't simply ignore a starting wideout on an NFL team, Childress is unlikely to make an impact once Jackson returns from his hamstring injury and/or if Branch ever comes to his senses.

From this thread.
Fanball says it will be Childress and Caldwell if no Branch.

From a fantasy perspective, which WRs are worth stashing? Childress and Chad Jackson?

I'm thinking Troy could be consistent, but will be borderline ff wr3 at best and has little to no upside.

My guess as a pats fan is

week 1 Brown / caldwell

When Jackson gets back. Jackson / Childress. (maybe week 2-3?)

Remember, Troy Brown is the only one with hands-on experience in the Patriots system. Childress may have some practive in it, but only Brown has had any real game day action.

this would be the correct scenario if its the Jetsmaybe DJ hacket from seattle... i don't think they'll deal engram since he's the only healthy one familar with the system and burelsons contract might be to big for NE's liking
