NE WRs - revised ideas about who gets what touches (1 Viewer)

OK after Moss......thoughts? Is it still typical NE and might as well flip a coin as to who gets what between Stallworth and Welker, with a little Watson and Maroney and "misc" here and there or-? Since Stallworth is so unreliable I'm thinking Welker will establish himself as a reliable WR2 with Stallworth pulling a S Moss and only have a few big games tops with little else to show otherwise. Agree?

For the most part. Welker's never going to draw the coverage that the wideouts will and is very adept at finding holes to hang out in and his speed and quickness get him some good YAC. But then again he could have 7/85 and Stallworth could have 2/90/2TDs. So it's a bit of a toss up. I actually have Welker in 3 or 4 leagues and don't plan using him too many times, although I think I have to this week with Hackett out. If he establishes himself as a repat #2 target then he could become very valuable as a WR3, and gold in ppr. So I guess I basically just said the same thing you did. I like Welker this year and don't think he'll reach Furrey's last year's stats, but could be close.

Welker. And it ain't close. I've never been a Stallworth fan and he has a history of under achieving. Plus, I see his game as closer to Moss' and Moss, barring injury, is the better option. Welker has a different role. I think the Chrebet comparison is good... this guy makes plays and is very versatile. I imagine he will be consistent. Did he have 6 catches week 1... probably at least 9 targets?

This is from Mike Reiss's blog on Boston.Com earlier this week:

I think Gaffney's numbers went up during the latter stages of the game as the Pats were trying to run out the clock.

Gold! Do you have that for all the other NFL teams? Specifically I would like to see Detroit.
See bolded portion above. He's the Patriots beat writer for the Boston Globe. In other words, no.
