Let me start off by saying I know just about nothing about telecom but for some reason have been nominated to find a solution. We've got a new office that we're setting up but don't want to pay to have an admin sit at the front desk and let people in. The building has to be secured and everyone that's not cleared must be escorted.
What I'm looking for is simply a setup with two phones. One in the lobby and one in our security office. If someone from the lobby picks up the phone it would auto ring the other phone. There doesn't need to be a phone number associated with either phone, just a connection between the two. Currently there are CAT6 lines run throughout the building including into the lobby area.
