I worked a charity event the other night at 4 World Trade Center, 57th floor and deGrasse Tyson was the main speaker. Less than 100 people. He spoke briefly and then held a Q&A session for about a half hour open to any questions the attendees had about astronomy or astrophysics. He was incredibly informative, friendly and open. After dinner, they went outside on a terrace where they had multiple telescopes set up with members from the NY Astronomy Club. He held little group session around each of them, explaining what they were looking at. Long after the event was over, he sat at the last remaining table, signing autographs and continuing to answer questions with an seemingly endless passion for the subject. Catering was long gone, we were breaking down the AV gear and there he sat until the last person and last question was asked. Really incredible and I now have an amazing amount of respect for the man.
