Season 1 was just epic. Just great. Season 2 was solid. I think season 3 started to really waiver. Season 4 got dark and more interesting. I feel season 5 is gonna be bad. Hell. It's been 15 years since I watched the show so I could be way off on my comments.

I uad forgotten that S4 ends with the world in immediate danger, not in a resolved situation. 16 years later, with the kids all grandparents by now, how does that "next day" play out?

Herein lies what Netflix wants by releasing these so far apart. I have to re-watch Season 1-4 to remember what the hell happened, before I can tune into Season 5. They have me locked

I’m halfway through season 4, watched all of season 1 and 3. Skipped a few from 2 just because. I like 4 too much to skip but it’s really tempting to jump to 5.

But what if you accidentally skipped an episode that had Conan's sword or Master of Puppets? Can't take the risk.

Im through the first four. Ill say... Originally it felt like the characters were under legitimate threat and any of them couldve gone at any time (ala GoT). But know i feel like we've got a bunch of redshirts getting wiped out and the stars are impervious to harm...comas aside.

I have a sense there will be a heartwrenching sacrifice before alls done, but generally that sense of uncertain anxiety about the these characters isnt there for me this season, so i feel like im watching more of a video game or superhero movie and find myself caring less.

Wth is up with everyone's eye brows? Like all the boys eye brows tripled in size. Almost ruins it. Ha ha

Trying to give Eleven this Olympic athletes skill set is silly. Some people can run. Some people cannot. She just isn't the American Ninja Warrior type. Apologize in advance, but she is the fat kid that got skinny and tries to run a marathon.

Starting at season 4, Will is just a horrible character and I just can't with him anymore.

Same with Robin and her girlfriend. I don't need anymore of that. I actually like Robin's character, i just don't need to see her dating a boy or girl anymore. Serves no purpose.

The good:

Still has that Goonies feel that sucked me in.

Is that Linda Hamilton? Cool.

I do like where Will’s story seems to be going at the end of episode 4.

He was unbearable in season 4.

I think you're forgetting ...or might know depending on your age ...how much hair we had in the 80s

I think Hopper is both training her like he would a grunt in the army and also wasting her time a bit to channel her energy away from just running off to help as a way of protecting her.

I'm ok with Will being a super at this point. He's been through enough so let him take some power back.

Robin...eh....I'm at the point in my life where I can do without every relationship in every show all around. Doesn't add anything for me but doesn't take away either. I'm indifferent.

Goonies is a good Northstar because the fact that kids are doing any of this past season 1 is truly stupid if you let yourself think about it too much.

Still a fun ride though.

Holly Wheeler being retconned from 7 to 10 years old is not ideal, but I'm not usually one to let something like this ruin my enjoyment of a show, this case included.

I do like where Will’s story seems to be going at the end of episode 4.

He was unbearable in season 4.

By the end of the 4th episode of season 5, Will went from the worst character (followed closely by Joyce) to one of my favorites. In large part to my love of Robin's whole thing.

Uma Jr celebrates her 500th radio broadcast on the show.. so that's almost a couple years right there. and allowing for them to get set up before broadcasting, I'm ok with 2-3 years passing and that kid actor also changing.

Definitely need to watch a recap to know what’s going on. I read somebody say something ties back to an event in season 1 and it’s like come on…that was 10 years ago.

The Duffer brothers recommended these four episodes to watch before you start season 5 so I did. Finishing up The Piggyback tonight then diving into Season 5.

• Season 2, Episode 6, “The Spy”
• Season 4, Episode 7, “The Massacre at Hawkins Lab”
• Season 4, Episode 9, “The Piggyback”
