Neutralizing your opponent (1 Viewer)

I'm trying to rationalize through the scenario where your opponent has at least two players from the same team, and that team's kicker is available on the waiver wire. First thought says this is a way to neutralize his points, since everytime this team scores, you will be scoring also...so essentially a 6 pt TD turns into a 5 pt TD. In addition, a stall in the red zone makes you even happier, as you will be getting 3 pts out of it.

However, if this team struggles putting up any points, which would normally be good for you, it then turns bad in the sense that your kicker has a bad day...but it seems that would still be a WIN for you.

Any thoughts?

I've never really noticed too much of a difference when I've been in this situation. I did have a situation a few years back where my opponent was down by about 14.5 points in a PPR league with a few minutes left in the game, and his receiver caught a 80 yard touchdown (15 points)...only to lose when my kicker kicked the extra point.

It's the only time I recall it making a difference for me or anyone else in my leagues...but to be honest, I would have been better off just starting another kicker, because I think I only got about four points from mine that game.

I think it's boom/bust.

If the offense is clicking well and scoring a lot of TDs the Kicker might not be doing much just XPs. If the offense is stalling they're probably at least getting FGs.

I had Bailey going against Romo this week Romo scored around 40 and Bailey got about 10 or 12. So they both had good games. But I've had Bailey since Gostkowski's bye and started him weekly since that point.
