New Batch of MFL Position Switches (1 Viewer)

Woodson takes a huge value hit in leagues that require separate CB/S. It's a curious position change IMO since I doubt Woodson plays more than 50% of the snaps as a safety.

Not really a big concern for most IDP leagues probably but does anyone see Desmond Bryant staying listed at DE or is there a change he gets put back at DT. How many times before the season starts does MLF update their positions?

I don't understand still listing Freeney at DE. Mathis was changed to LB back in May, and Freeney seems to be dropping more into coverage than Mathis. This is puzzling.

Totally agree. If Freeney's position sticks at DE he's actually draftable. Otherwise...not so much.

Why wouldn't they have changed his classification though? Is it a Suggs gimmick? Where, even though everyone and their brother knows that Suggs is really a LB that sometimes puts his hand on the ground, since the team lists him as a DE then CBSS(where I believe MFL gets its data for this stuff) does too?

MFL uses Rotoworld's depth charts. Currently Rotoworld has Freeney at DE and Mathis at OLB. As to their rationale... your guess is as good as mine.

I remember fighting the Justin Smith change years ago when we charted out what position he was actually playing. I suppose something could be done with Woodson or any other player change that people feel strongly against.

Is there a point in time when Rotoworld/MFL will keep the position designation and not change it? Or might they change the position designation at any point?

Of course, we all would eagerly draft Freeney as a DE but wouldn't draft him as LB. Any thoughts as to when is safe to draft him without the designation DE changing ??

THX.

so who are the Colts DE?, if they plan on keeping Free / Mathis / Hughes on the field at the sametime one would have to be listed DE

They can change guys during the season and have, Elvis Dumervil was listed as a DT and during the season was changed to DE, was his rookie season. That's one I remember for sure, but there have probably been others.

Well, that was like 6 years agoThey haven't changed any defensive players in the last 3/4 years

Well Desmond is still listed a DE on rotoworld, while being listed as a DT on the raiders webside. Too bad, could have been very valuable as a DT in DT required leagues.

Listed as a DT on nfl.com, which is what both my MFL leagues go by, regardless of what they are elsewhere.

MFL uses Rotoworld's depth charts.

If your MFL league uses another site for depth charts (NFL.com or otherwise), that means the commissioner must be manually making position adjustments for every player who doesn't match Rotoworld.
